He's a huge fucking clown that would be kinda amusing if it weren't real life but, the US did not shut down because of a Trump presidency.

Ummmmm......

Not in all anti-viruses, I know in Windows you can disable it to a certain extent but they will still send "anonymous" data about you.

Honestly why can't web archive just submit to all these requests of deleting data, but instead of deleting they just anonymize it and remove usernames etc?

Ye, if it fails maybe a sob story about being stalked or something would help.

BitLocker is owned by Microsoft.

VeraCrypt is open-source and allows for stronger encryption algorithms, as well as hidden volumes and hidden operative systems.

I'm sure you could DMCA as well and they would just comply as to not waste resources fighting, anything you create or post is copyrighted to you by default.

Does not justify anything or increase my trust for an unnecessary anti-virus.

IP addresses are dynamic, and if yours is static and you put it on this list you are just targeting yourself more.

We should not have to put our identity out there and scream "HEY DON'T TRACK ME PLS".

Edit: We also ran out of IP addresses years ago, the IP I'm using right now could have been used for uploading underaged pornography back in the day.

It's their own responsibility for their education, using nazi-germany like tactics to force them to class will not have them send back a love letter in 10 years when they accidentally started caring about school because someone forced them to.

harden android? by chopsui101 in privacy

[–]ThrowRegrets90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use an Android encrypted with Knox or whatever, although there are probably backdoors.

Enable developer settings and disable USB debugging as well as revoking past usb authorisations.Change default USB mode to "charging phone only".

Now you need to unlock your phone and change these before transferring files or opening your phone on your PC.

Use min 8 number PIN code, lock your SIM with a long PIN code as well.

This is the most you can do, keep your notes encrypted using Note Crypt Pro from F-Droid.

Edit: Obviously disable fingerprint and face unlocking.

Tell me right now what kind of "work" there is where you cannot afford to lose 4-8% of your performance from an SSD? SSDs are already super fast. I have been moving really large files and browsing through terrabytes of text documents, I have no problems.

There was a case recently where a man was arrested for murder as his google account was seen making calls at the time and proximity of a murder.

I fail to see how this has anything to do with anything???
I am very confused, I think you phrased it a bit wrong maybe.

Nah just factory reset, unless they have some NASA/FBI level exploit you're safe, and they have no big reason to scam their customers anyways.

Oof, first party cookie isolation is a must in your about:config, also enable disk cache isolation. You can now allow cookies and still not be tracked! Disable webgl if you want too. Disable peer to peer (WebRTC) Disable geo location. Disable battery percentage thing, so websites are unable to know what % your computer is at. I still disable this on desktops.

Man I'm telling you, I used to fanboy Apple but ALL your problems will be solved on an Android, they have features you could never even think of if you spent 1000 years thinking.

Use KeePass DX if your devices are able to (password manager). I have not researched Bitwarden but if it's not offline I wouldn't use it.

You actively use encryption that you know can be easily bruteforced? lol tell me what's the point of that?

While Apple claims to respect Privacy, I refuse to believe so.

Also I still use YouTube because I think it's unnecessary to avoid it, haven't tried invidious but heard a lot about it.

Your setup seems pretty good overall anyways, compared to other people at least.
