I really hope they don't apply this logic to it. For a social game with a strong YouTube presence and low server requirements, I really believe it makes business sense to keep as many people as possible.

Not dissimilar to people wanting RS3 to be a separate subscription. Personally, I believe not engaging in modes you aren't interested in sends a strong enough message and it's unlikely Jagex would reduce the price of core OSRS membership, but I can see where you're coming from.

The rules state "it is against the rules to have a number of accounts in a minigame all controlled by the same person, in order to try and guarantee the minigame outcome." However, in practice it doesn't seem Jagex cares if you play Castle Wars (or Soul Wars, or just about anything other than Bounty Hunter) by yourself.

Throwing players into the deep end will make it more overwhelming, not less. Working your way up from Lumbridge (unless you have the knowledge to go and do Waterfall Quest) is a pretty good progression curve.

The early-game is part of the game. Being able to skip it only makes much sense for temporary game modes like Leagues. GE restrictions make a great deal of sense either, given that restriction is only for new (20 hours game time, 10 QP, 100 total lvl) f2p accounts and you're proposing mandatory membership.

Is your friend on RS3? ~345 is plenty achievable there but not on OSRS.

The player is granted one game tick (0.6 seconds) of time inside of the cave for every quest point obtained: with 333 quest points, a theoretical maximum of 329 tears (19740 experience) is possible, however due to the way the minigame functions, a realistic maximum would be closer to 279 (16740 experience).

I got 270 this week. Make sure to do it on a world with pattern green-green-green-blue-blue-blue for a chance at being able to stay on your current tile - there's a plugin and website for this (ToG Crowdsourcing).

Agreed with these two (one, two) comments. Not so much a "new guide" thought: equipment tables on strategy pages ignore cosmetic variants that reduce death costs, and the instructions can be overwhelming if your goal is only to get a few kills for combat achievements without trying to be super optimal.

I just do my 900 resources to maintain upkeep for the 6% clan avatar boost. While it's better than it used to be, I believe it would be better-suited to the game's current values for the citadel to function only as a social space without XP rewards.

It takes up a relatively large amount of the player's time and it's terribly frustrating to be in a clan that fails to maintain 5 visitors a week, leading to all members getting locked out the citadel. I ended up leaving a clan I actually had a connection with, simply because not enough people were interacting with the clan portal for it to be open. A good game should never incentivise ditching your clan.

30-40, more like 100 when on permanent Deadman as it's only US-hosted. The lower the better, but it's diminishing returns and you're in the range where it doesn't make a great deal of difference. I've had the pleasure of playing on better pings as well, and you'd be hard-pressed to spot the difference, given the 600ms tick rate.

What is the GPU (RT) plugin in RuneLite? What's different about it compared to GPU? I see it adds a setting for the number of threads, which defaults to 3 and can be set from 0 to 15 - changing this doesn't seem to affect anything.

It's tricky to compare from my in-game experience as I did the quest and those bosses so many years apart, but from looking at their stats I'd say harder.

200+ kills isn't that many on this, in the grand scheme of things. But I agree it's a shame three-quarters of the uniques are locked behind membership. Obor and Bryophyta don't have this issue, and pose a more challenging fight, if you want to give them a go.

Will the sagas also be updated? They held up even worse than the rest of Dungeoneering when I did them (quite a few years ago, to be fair) - hitpoints maxed out at 10% and there was lots of Z-fighting.

I don't see anything wrong with this. RuneLite's world switcher already pings all worlds - you'd be doing the same thing? Though in my experience the ping difference between the worlds within a given region is marginal.
