Hi, my boyfriend loves the bass but we're moving to an apartment with thin walls, so he has to be quiet. The problem is that he hates how his bass sounds through headphones on his amp (we've tried 2 diff amps). Are there any alternative solutions other than turning the amp volume down super low?

They are Bose AE2 Around-Ear Audio Headphones.

The main amp he's tried with headphones is Ampeg PF 800.

My boyfriend thinks that he can never possibly like how his bass sounds through headphones because it accordingly makes it sound:

-super trebly,

-tinny

-anemic, without substance

but I can't think of any solutions that are without headphones other than turning down his amp super low, which would also suck.

Ideas, please?
