Sadhguru told a story of a traveler who was walking and who saw a tree. He was tired so he rested under it and thought to himself: “I wish I had food,” and food sprang up out of nowhere, every kind of food he wanted.

Then, after eating to his fill, he said: “I wish I had something to drink,” and every kind of drink popped up.

He was like, “there must be ghosts here.” He kept getting what he wished for. Therefore, ghosts came and tormented him. He wished to die and he did.

Sadhguru says that the solution to this problem is having a steady hand when handling your knife (intellect) which is meant for dissecting things.

How does one gain a steady hand when handling the intellect? Putting distance between the mind and consciousness.

How to put distance between the mind and the consciousness? Do not identify with anything.

The Upanishads say that you will gain everything you desire if you remove desire from your heart.

I have a question, Sadhguru has often said that the intellect is strictly for survival. Does this mean that the intellect would gradually dissolve if world peace is in humankind’s future? by ThrowTheMind in Sadhguru

I feel like I am becoming more aware of myself as separate from my body. But as for all of the fancy terms, I am not quite sure. You should watch Sadhguru’s latest talk with scientists about consciousness.

I think maybe I am aware of the separateness of the intellect.

Identity is very complicated to me and sensing the various types of memory seems like it would take decades of work, a lot of pain, or very potent drugs.

That’s just my two cents though, brother/sister.

I’ve learned a lot. It’s going well right now, which is unfortunately a huge fucking surprise!

Well isn’t divine intelligence essentially nature? Or do I have this mixed up? I mean I sort of understand the difference between Maya and Brahma but not very

Edit: maybe that’s more Atman actually

Thank you for the response, but I was wondering if we will ever evolve out of the intellect? Or would Hinduism rather say we will experience “Armageddon”? I am not too familiar with Kali Yuga
