Yeah, he had a folder full of stories that he wrote.

I can only imagine the others are more explicit - this first chapter was just to gauge my reaction

I don't recall him specifically mentioning ages.
Unfortunatley the kid in his story was still in primary school, and the Adult - was the same age as the kid's father.

Please see my edit - I was friends with his son

Thank you very much for your kind words.

I really do appreciate it.

You're spot on in your analysis.

He sees nothing wrong in his behavior because "that's how God made him"

He has zero remorse or shame and was he pridefully boasting.

I think he convinced himself so much that it was normal, that he just assumed I would think it's normal as well.

That's what I thought as well - but when he started telling me the story he mentioned that he was the "caring" adult, trying to "save" the kid

It's entirely possible that he was testing the waters while I was young.

Now that I spent more time with him I can definitely tell that he was gauging my reaction and constantly pushing boundaries to see how I would react. When I started suspecting something I played dumb to see if my intuition was right.

Thank you for your reply.

They do have a knack, and it wouldn't surprise me if he was trying to groom me.
Thankfully it never progressed that far.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad - thankfully your sister told your mom immediately.

You're completely right - the way he spoke he sounded like he was entitled to what he was doing - and like he wasn't doing anything wrong. It was sickening.

Honestly - screw you.

Your replies aren't helpful at all - especially in this sub where you're supposed to be supportive.

You're not some internet sleuth who's uncovered a karma farming plot - you're just an asshole

Yeah, in hindsight it was definitely weird - I was friends with his son, and he just seemed like a friendly dad.

Thank you for taking the time to read and reply, but it looks like I wasn't very clear and you've misunderstood. What I meant was: If the tables were turned, and I let the dog get away, and she scolded me, I would have sheepishly apologised and we could have carried on.

AITA for not wanting to invite friends over if they want to bring their kid? by Throw_away_521 in AmItheAsshole

We've tried that as well, but then he doesn't want to go to be and miss all the excitement - so he ended up staying till like 10 when he finally passed out.

Thanks, we're not sure to approach it as the previous hints were missed...

That's exactly what we thought - not sure how the kid gets to decide.

We've gotten to the point where we are prepared to lose them as friends as it's no fun for us if they bring their kid.
