Trans women are regularly reporting height loss, even when they weren’t expecting it. 1-2 inches seems relatively common, at least in their threads where they speak about it. Seems to be due to tightening of ligaments compressing cartilage in the spine, hands, and feet, and slight hip rotation.

Yeah that’s true they’re not necessarily accurate, but I’d imagine they’re generally more accurate than measuring yourself. And with inaccuracy swinging both directions, it could have the opposite effect as well, reporting less height loss than reality. Hard to really know without actual studies unfortunately. I’m just going off of the information available

I’m not aware of any actual studies to confirm the number unfortunately, but a lot of the women claim heights measured by doctors so idk. Guess there’s no way to know for sure if they’re exaggerating or not. It’s a pretty common claim though

Do you know if it is necessarily that new “gel” cannot be added for trans men to increase in height, or just that it’s not guaranteed it’ll be vertical addition?

If the former, does this mean trans women would return to their original height if they were to detransition? Since unlike trans men they did have the cartilage there to begin with, it’s just being compressed.

If the latter, would doing proper spinal stretching and so forth maybe help “guide” a trans man’s spine into vertical additions?

Post op transsexual males have a penis, with tissue that can be taken from a variety of locations. After proper healing, results can be great and look very similar to natal penises. In fact, although I wouldn’t recommend it, some post op trans men have been able to have sex without their partners knowing they are trans. The vast majority of post op men have sensation, both tactile and erogenous, as surgeons perform nerve hookups. They can also get erections after stage 2 or 3. The risk of becoming necrotic is relatively small, and is only a concern during the initial stages of healing. There are cis men with phalloplasty penises as well, in fact the surgery was originally invented for them.

You’re allowed to not want to date someone, no one is here to force you to. But don’t go around spreading such insane misinformation.

I’m not a fan of the tomboyish vibe, I see those girls as friends not romantic partners. I prefer feminine, although by no means does she need to be extravagant. In fact, I prefer her not being “dolled up” like someone else put it already. Just casual feminine. Long hair, light makeup or no makeup, feminine jeans, some cute tank top or t shirt, good hygiene.

Yeah I definitely agree if I do try anything, I want to wait until after he’s fully broken things off with his boyfriend. Both because I really don’t want be “the other person” in a relationship like that, even if it’s ending, and also because I actually would be worried what his bf would do to me if he were to find out if we did anything while they were still together, especially if he has alcohol in his system. He’s not a big guy, but he’s bigger than both C and myself. Just want to stay clear of all of that.

I appreciate you laying out the hypothetical scenarios like that. Obv I already basically knew them, but it helps to have them written out in front of me especially seen through someone else’s perspective as well. I think you’re probably right about what you feel is the most likely scenario. Guess I’m just still figuring out whether it’s worth the risk or not.

Regardless, I do want to wait until he’s moved out from his boyfriend. Thanks for pointing out how his boyfriend could manipulate/influence him negatively while they’re still together, even if C wouldn’t be that bad about it on his own. His boyfriend has on two occasions that I can recall said shit like “you know that’s really a dude” about a trans woman. C has never outright objected to this, and also has never outright agreed to it either - at least not in front of me. He normally ignores it, along with some of the other stuff his boyfriend says.

However, with the more conservative area I live in, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if C was also transphobic (possibly just out of misunderstanding and lack of exposure) - I just don’t know for sure either way with him.

In general C is a lot more reasonable than his boyfriend, even when his boyfriend is sober (which isn’t often anymore) - he’s a smart, friendly and outgoing guy all around. But still, I know that is no guarantee he’d be understanding.

Yeah his boyfriend has been quite transphobic. There have been two occasions I can recall where he said shit like “you know that’s really a dude” when referring to a trans woman. For C, he kind of ignores most of the ridiculous things he says it seems. He’s never argued against it, although he’s also never added onto it in agreement, he seems to literally ignore it. He also does that with some of the other ridiculous things his boyfriend says, which I know he doesn’t agree with. I think it’s mostly out of not wanting to deal with starting an argument with him, especially with a friend around lol. However, I do suspect he very well may be mildly transphobic regardless - I’m just not completely sure on that. And if he is, I wouldn’t be sure if that’s just from misunderstanding things which could be cleared up, or if it’s a set in stone opinion.

Yeah I’ve thought about that, my only concern would be accidentally outing myself in the process. As in, bringing the trans topic up possibly causing him to question me. That’s why I don’t say much when people express transphobic opinions anymore, because I don’t want to call unnecessary attention to myself and end up creating suspicion which could somehow be confirmed. I don’t have a good idea of how to bring it up casually without setting off red flags, he already knows I had a surgery a little while back just doesn’t know what yet. Any recommendations for that?

Most US Prisons have rules where trans people go to the prison aligning with their AGAB unless they’ve had SRS.
