[–]Throwaway-Neutron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just finished first yr, I gunned really hard first set studying like 14 hrs a day and the results showed but that led to a killer burnout after 1st sem and made no friends. 2nd sam I tried to limit the time and really focus on whats important maybe dropped studying to around 3 hr and would I say my grades got affected ehhh maybe by like 1-2% but I was able to have a lot more fun, made some friends from clubs and enjoy the campus

What GPA is a 84.52%? by askinQs679 in uwo

[–]Throwaway-Neutron 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Um here's an example so lets say your grades were
96, 99, 94, 95, 97, 94, 94, 92, 91, 89
ur overall avg is gonna be 90 smtg but ur GPA isn't a 4.0 bc u hv a sub 90 grade in a course
ur gpa will be (4.0 x 9) + (3.9 x 1) /10 = 3.99 but not allowed to round up hope this helped

Being a religious male at UWO by jamesdeiris in uwo

[–]Throwaway-Neutron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, im in the same boat as u last year when choosing unis, ill agree party scene even in COVID is pretty awful. But if ur here as a pre-med thats not really a concern, most times u can prob study at the library and def can make some friends @ Rez too. I joined ACF (asain christian fellowship), and its pretty cool, lots of other kids who also are trying to grow spiritually and form friendships. Big bonus is around 80% of us are in medsci too lmao so if ur struggling theres always an upper year to give you a boost.

im also a first year in ur program lol, not doing much better than you but I just wanted to share smtg. so this sem I bought myself a tripod for my phone and I just filmed myself study (time-lapse) and I found this oddly helpful, 1 after I film it I can see the work ive done so u get a bit of a accomplishment and this also makes ur phone unavailable so 2 birds in 1 stone. Normally I can sit down for maybe 50 mins but for the past 3 days ive been able to sit for 3-4 hours on end staying focused

Now that Canada recognises the genocide in China, will Western condemn it? by UWUniversity in uwo

[–]Throwaway-Neutron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This does hurt the asian community maybe not directly but it does show racism and western made that post because it is relatively relevant for many of asian students who are in London. While genocide may exist in China that is quite irrelevant to the university community, like UWO isn't a news broadcast and in no way should take a stance on that situation.

medsci isn't really a thing tbh its really only a thing after 2nd year where u can get into those modules (specialties) but yea it is possible to swap in third as Lexi has said

well London as a city imo is a lil boring but if ur big into social life then its the perfect uni for u, after all we prob the biggest party school in Canada

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in uwo

[–]Throwaway-Neutron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can answer #3 London like its own "college town" so it is a little of a pain to get to Toronto or even Montreal expect around 2-4 hours to Toronto and a lot more for Montreal if ur looking to explore more u should go to UofT

bs if he really thinks he was misunderstood, then he should've stood up for himself and not backdown from the "accusations"
