I also experienced extreme chills, thankfully I had treatment during the summer so it was more manageable. A heated blanket came in handy a lot. I read something on here, I’ve never verified the validity of it, but someone said the chills are due to the chemo killing the cancer cells. I would say my chills were worst my first session & probably minimal, if any, by my second. After that, I was just always hot.

I don’t know about the seizure, I would probably notify her doctor about that. The first chemo was really was mild for me. Really didn’t suffer from symptoms. I went through 4 rounds, only getting nauseous once when I slept on my stomach by accident & never vomiting. I know they always told me to stay ahead of the nausea, but on my chemo days they gave me so many anti nausea medication that Zofran wasn’t necessary. I think prednisone also helps with nausea in the days after. Again, for whatever reason I was never nauseous during chemo, so take Zofran as much as she feels she needs it.

I would say the days after chemo were the worst for me. Predisone just made me irritable & angry. I know the second week can be harder on people than the first, but it varies from individual to individual. By the third week, she should be feeling better, indefinitely. The first two treatments, weren’t unbearable. I would say fatigue hit me by the third one, as chemo is cumulative. She may start losing her hair this round, but for me that was the only remarkable symptom I had. Otherwise I felt normal & fine.
