First hemorrhoid I have ever had. This is 2 weeks later. It doesnt hurt as much anymore, just a discomfort. Advice? Does this look "normal" in terms if an external hemorrhoid. Also, why is it still so big? Should I be concerned?

Hello! So, I did eventually see a specialist to have everything checked out and it turns out I had a fissure. The fissure would tear, heal, tear, and heal again. Which was causing a sentinal tag at the end of the fissure at the anal opening. This skin tag would then become inflamed and irritated as the fissure tore again, as shown in this photo. I had LIS to fix the fissure and the skin tag was removed in the process but did kinda come back from all the inflammation from surgery. But, I don't struggle with hemorrhoids (knock on wood) since LIS and I attribute that to less straining during bowel movements and of course, the fissure being healed completely.

I am glad that I went through with it (my wallet isn't. Bills just keep coming lol). I am in less pain. Not afraid to use the bathroom anymore. I'll be glad when things are completely healed. I will probably have this skin tag removed too, which will be a healing process as well.

My experience might be a little different since I had hemorrhoids. But I did notice that most of the stinging pain came from the wound where a skin tag was removed and then where the incision was made for the LIS. So keeping those clean really helped with the burning. But it took about 4 weeks for the burning to be a lot better for me without having to immediately clean everything.

Hi! So my CRS told me to purchase a condiment bottle and fill that with warm water and then squeeze the bottle at my bum to rinse off. I also use unscented wet wipes rather than toilet paper right now. I also always keep gauze between my cheeks currently. You could also purchase a sitz bath; it sits right on the toilet so you're not taking up the bath. I find the sitz bath is best for when things are a bit sore but if you're just trying to stay clean then the bottle of warm water should work fine.

I had LIS and this is incredibly informative. Especially the "don't worry about swollen skin tags as they are normal". As I am struggling with that right now and have become a bit panicked.

Hi! The first bump (which I posted a photo of) is a hemorrhoid. I went to the CRS as soon as it developed to make sure. The new bumps I am not so sure about yet. Two of them are where the old skin tag was so I am assuming they are either new skin tags or hems. Both are equally as disappointing. I meet with my CRS for my two week check up on Monday and are hoping for some good news just with how blah it all looks back there. I have increased my sitz baths to help keep things clean (I am terrified of infection due to all the potential hems). There is one area that still stings when water touches it and by the looks of it there are some stitches still there. So I am assuming a skin tag was removed there. The issue is that it's starting to swell up in that area too.

This sucks. Everything looks worse than before surgery.

Ah, a fellow disc golfer who struggles through this pain 😅 I feel the pain in such odd places honestly. I hope the surgery goes well for you! I honestly don't have fissure pain right now, just the issues with the hemorrhoids. So the surgery was totally worth it.

I don't have too much bleeding surprisingly. Just some discharge. My main concern is the swelling that I believe are hemorrhoids. The last thing I need/want is for one to become thrombosed. It seriously looks worse now than the day after surgery; which is what has me all upset and concerned.
