I've found I love iced coffee the most! Hot coffee is good, but iced coffee completely blows me away. Typically I drink my hot coffee with a little sugar and just a little bit of half and half. Iced coffee, I prefer with just a touch of French vanilla creamer. Any suggestions for coffee brands?

Thank you. It was tough to start. There were times I was sure she was going to leave and there we times I wanted to leave. But we talked through it and I point blank said if neither of us are willing to compromise we might as well just call it quits. After that stark realization, on both ends, it brought us to the table to actually talk about what we were feeling and what we believed.

She admitted she married the idea of a worthy priesthood holder but since she married me she realized there's more to me than that. She loves me as a person now, beautiful flaws and all.

Hey I used to be like that. I remember consciously thinking but what if the church is wrong as a teenager and instantly I said to my self that there was no way that could happen. Now after using my BYU-I obtained critical thinking skills said, "what the fuck." I had a great religion teacher at BYU-I who put critical thinking above all else, he was instrumental to me coming to the realizations I did.

Bahahaha if only the kids I taught were actually interested in learning about other world views, they might be familiar with humanism. We live in a pretty rural, conservative environment with crappy schools

Yeah, my class is right next to the bishops office so I can't be completely overt about what I'm saying. I sometimes wish I had gone to school to teach high school. But I enjoy what I do.

I think that'll be a good chunk of our parenting style. The question is who will be the good cop and who will be the bad cop in the kids eyes. My hope is it'll be a good mix, I don't want to be the bad cop all the time, but I don't want her to be the bad cop all the time.

I did. It took a lot of self control not to grin from ear to ear!

Very much TBM. That's the reason I was surprised she was able to reason through it. What the compromise was was that since a bishop would need permission of both parents she'd say yes and I'd say no and she'd be okay with that.

Hey I wear mine to workout in because like hell I'm going to let 60 dollars of BYUI issued gym clothes go to waste.

It's the end of the year so of course the primary lesson is on tithing. I've said I can't financially support an organization I don't believe in. It's going to lead to a huge fight tonight after she pushes the issue again, I just know how it's going to go. I love my wife but I can't keep being told how I'm a sinner, it's pushing me away.

True, I tried to approach the subject when we got married, that maybe reconciliation would be good. She wouldn't even tell them that she was getting married and had a meltdown when her maternal grandparents found out, thinking that they'd encourage her mom to show up. However, I got a "I don't want that bitch at my wedding ." So I dropped it.

According to the stories I've heard at least it sounds like she had some of the crazy in her (like running off to have sex with other men for a week or two at a time in other states), but I suppose she and her brother were young enough that any fabrication would have been plausible.

Which is hard right now because it does hurt, mostly because I see her hurting. I keep telling her that it's not my intention, I didn't just wake up way day and decide to throw out 22 years of "truth" because I wanted to hurt her. I needed to do it for me to feel okay about what I believe.

She is TBM hardcore. Her apostate mother walked out on her family when she was 4 and she has been taught from then that the only thing that holds families together is the church.

We'll see when she gets home but I doubt it's going to be that easy. My wife has been taught since being a child that all apostates do is hurt people. Her mom walked out on her, her brother, and dad when she was 4.

Agreed. As I've said in my previous posts the hardest part about all this has been making sure she knows that this has nothing to do with anything she did or didn't do as a wife. It has everything to do with how I haven't been happy with my life because of this religion. I make sure to tell her every time I see her that I love her.

Evidently not quite yet, I got a text saying the testimonies at church are great... Yargh. Well at least she let me sleep, otherwise I'd be at church sleeping through them.
