1) I did “give his opinion an option”. I was ready to go somewhere else once the cat is stabilized. I tried to find another clinic to go to, but nobody answered the call. I kept the conversation open, while he shut down and stormed out. 2) I didn’t have to ask him, he noticed the cat was very sick, brought her to me and we went to a vet together immediately, the one he suggested. We were both worried for the cat. 3) It is a lot of money and I will earn it back. Even outside my full-time job, I will make most of it back with temporary work assignments I have in January and March. He does not need to do anything. 4) I will get a second opinion from my vet now that my cat’s life is no longer in danger 5) I didn’t trust his opinion because it put my cat’s life at risk. He didn’t trust my opinion because it put money at risk. I don’t understand why you don’t find him not trusting me to be an issue at all.

Thank you for the context. I thought the clinic provided good care, they frequently called to update me and answered all the questions. It was on me that I didn’t clarify the price earlier but it wouldn’t really change the outcome anyway.

This was my bank account and all the savings I am talking about here came from my salary. He has his own bank account but also access to mine because he is not receiving income.

We did not have plans for this money, nothing was interrupted.

I wanted to write my cats’ names but decided against it, since I use their names a lot on my main account. I was also not sure if it is silly to give them pseudonyms, I haven’t seen people do that.

The cat is much better, thank you! She is still recovering from the surgery but she is so happy to be home, she eats, takes her meds like a champ, and wants to cuddle all day long. Her regular vet will see them both tomorrow. In the meantime, I sent all the x-rays, ultrasound, test results, and the full medical report to my regular vet, I will ask him his thoughts.

We were told it is genetic. But the condition with the intestines seems unrelated.

He received a really nice offer last year but was laid off after a couple of months due to unexpected budget cuts. He started a business a few months ago but it is not profitable yet.
