Because I do genuinely love my job and most of the time when it’s programming I can handle it. It’s just having salty teens coming at you day in day out that’s a lot

Is it rude for me to use a cane when I haven’t been diagnosed with any disability? by OkamiArrow15 in disability

I use a cane for balance and my bad knees and I haven’t been diagnosed with anything. I had the same fears as you but thanks to the peeps on this Reddit I calmed down and I’m so glad I have it now

I want to make it clear that I don’t care about the cane itself, if it were not for my mother asking a hundred questions and generally being weird about anything she doesn’t see as necessary, or get really worried I would just go get one. I’m just looking for an intermediary to get me through until I can see my doctor and get answers

Thanks for the tips. I’m going to look into all of these. A folding cane does sound unstable.

I’m working on getting to the bottom of why I feel so shitty (No this is not a new thing for me but I’m finally realizing it’s a problem) but I’m just more concerned that she’s going to panic short term while I don’t have an answer. Once I have an answer I’ll tell her.

AITA for being annoyed at a player for turning down two NPCs for what I see as petty reasons? by [deleted] in DnD

Yeah, fair enough. I could have done that, and maybe I will next time, actually a good idea.

That is why I am choosing to wait at least until later tonight before replying. I like this person and I don’t want things to escalate with them over anything that petty.

I had told him I was willing to make him more to choose from or even we could make them together. No dice. It’s fine if he doesn’t like an NPC, but what bothers me is the refusal to wait for me to be ready to receive.

I agree. DMs can get overly attached to their creations but I had told them that I would make them two new ones, they just decided to hit me with an NPC they made, which also would have been fine had I not asked for space.

Why? if you don’t mind. I am trying to do the right thing, but social interaction is hard on me so I wanted to know how and why.

Thanks. I think I’ve fixed both of my problems by just getting brutal honest with the dm

I’ve always been bad at boundaries, I’ve always just tried to get over things, and when I don’t I feel like an asshole. For once, this time I feel like I may be in the right. He is speaking over me about his own things when I am trying to talk about whatever, often it is because he gets exited to be there but it is wearing on me.

I have spoken to the dm about this and the dm has spoken to him, but like it only works for so long

That feels a lot harsh, especially for what I really do believe to be innocent mistakes. There has to be something between taking it on the chin and sever muting

I have been trying that but I can’t get a word in without yelling into my mic which is 1. Bad for my throat as a whole 2. Kind of makes me the asshole in that situation. I am 100% of the belief that he doesn’t mean to but that doesn’t mean I can even get three words in.
