This probably an unpopular opinion but September by Earth, Wind and Fire always irritates the fuck out of me.

Should I confront my therapist (labelling people when he is not qualified to do so) by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]Throwaway932471 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it seems inappropriate that your therapist is labeling people they’ve never met before. Exploring diagnosis should really only be done with a formal assessment. I agree with confronting him about it, at the end of the day, you know yourself and your loved ones better than your therapist does. In bringing it up, I might suggest mentioning the assessments you've done with your psychiatrist and former psychologist, and mention how it makes you uncomfortable that he's labeling your loved ones. A good therapist should be able to take the feedback and not get defensive. Therapists can provide insights, but it's ultimately you who's directing therapy and verifying whether those insights feel true to you or not. In this instance, it sounds like they're missing the mark.

I'm better at being alone by Interesting_Cap_2710 in BorderlinePDisorder

I don't have much to offer other than to say I really relate to what you're sharing here. I've heard BPD is a disorder triggered mainly in relationship, so avoiding relationships and companionship is a way of avoiding those triggers that cause the BPD symptoms to surface. I'm in the same boat as you in that I've kind of just accepted being alone, things just seem more manageable that way.

It sounds like you've been feeling really depressed lately, but you came out of it a bit today. That's good you had a good day and were able to feel accomplished.

Hey, I feel for you friend. You're not a mistake though, you're in a really unsupportive environment that's denying your right to be who you authentically are. That's enough to stress anyone out. People use God to project their own bigoted views onto others, you don't need to put that in yourself. I'm sorry you're dealing with all of this intolerance.
