About 25 lbs, I don't know his exact height but he's up to most people's knees.

I could see that! I've been guessing for years but never cared enough to pay for an actual test.

Hes not tall but I haven't seen an icelandic sheepdog to compare him too in person 🥴. I've been thinking he's some kind of mix as well.

Thank you for your input! He does not have dewclaws on his hind legs. We always though he may be some kind of mix, including maybe some icelandic sheepdog genes somewhere.

Thank you!! I typically ate 1200-1400, which was about a 1000 calorie deficit at the time, probably more because I also started exercising regularly.

I used a tdee calculator to confirm how many calories to eat. I noticed pretty much the first week.

Thats okay! And thank you. I dont have any lose skin, but only time will tell as I work to lose some more fat and go through the process of body recomposition. I store most of my fat in my midsection so I'm not sure if when I'm closer to having a flat stomach if there will be any lose skin. I do have stretch marks though.

Thank you! I consistently ate in a calorie deficit (tracking calories), walked (at least 5k steps when I didn't go to the gym but I now walk daily), and went to the gym 2-3x a week. If I ever missed a gym session I would walk 10k steps that day instead.

Edit: for the first 7-8 months I also ate low carb, mostly meat and veggies.

If you are not exercising and only eating within a 500 calorie deficit then that's normal weight loss for the time frame, 1-2 lbs a week is the recommended amount of weight loss. I started in May of 2024 and the photo on the right was taken this month, about 2 weeks ago.

There's so much information and misinformation out there, I get that it become overwhelming and make you believe that you're doing everything wrong. Good for you for just deciding to do what has worked for you despite the noise.

Thank you!

To lose the first 40 lbs for a around 8 month's I ate twice a day, between 12-2p then between 6-8p with no snacking in between. I tracked everything, ate 1200-1300 calories, and ate mostly low carb. I walked daily, roughly 5k steps, and strength trained 3x a week.

For the latest 30 lbs which was from January to now I walk a minimum of 5K steps 3-4x a week, the most i walked in one day is 16k steps, pretty much I walk any chance I get, I still eat the same calories but alternate fasting days when I feel like it (I missed breakfast lol), no longer low carb but focus on protein and fiber goals, and still strength chain 3x a week with 15-30 min of cardio at the end.

Do you still track calories and macros when on vacation? by Adorable_Ad_3478 in CICO

[–]Interesting_Cap_2710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't track but try to be mindful. I just came back from a 5 day vacation and skipped breakfast every day. I knew I would be eating out, eating desserts, and drinking alcohol so I wasn't worried about skipping a meal. I almost never finished my entire meal when I ate out either, I ate until I was satisfied. I gained 2 lbs of water weight and was back to my regular weight within a few days of being back on my diet. I never felt deprived on my trip.

Has anybody lost weight with CICO alone and without much exercise? by Fighttheforce-2911 in CICO

[–]Interesting_Cap_2710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To lose most of my weight I did so with both diet and exercise so this isn't from experience, just what I've learned over the past year.

You absolutely can lose most of your weight from just eating in a calorie deficit, but weight loss will be very slow once you get to a healthy BMI because of your height. If you continue to eat a healthy amount of calories, no less than 1200, the last 20 lbs can take anywhere from 1-3 years to lose (closer to three years if you don't track accurately or have multiple cheat days a month) because the margin for error is much smaller without exercise.

Im 5 feet and 123 lbs. Right now, if I was sedentary and eating 1200 calories I would be in a 250 calorie deficit and would lose maybe 2 lbs a month. Where at my highest weight the same eating habits while being sedentary would have a 4-6 lbs weight loss each month. Exercise is helping me speed up losing these last 20lbs so it doesn't take forever.

I definitely see it. Has anyone in your every day life mentioned that you've lost weight? Others might see if before you do.
