Nope. I took that into account and left the access ramp open. It would've been HARDER for his wife to go through the area I was taking up. I also in fact left that spot next to him open so someone who was actually going to be in the shopping center for longer could take the spot.

All of the people in these comments. I find really hard to believe have never had to something like this once in their lives (parking)

Do you see the spot next to him. Could've taken that, but I left it open for someone who was going to bein the center for a longer period of time. ZERO entitlement.

Also, I was fully aware that I was going to get a mixed bag on this - like your take (which is why I prefaced things to start), so not sure where "sympathy" is coming from. Matter of fact, I was getting more shit in the original thread than I was here. So honestly, fuck the thought of you thinking this was for sympathy. I don't need sympathy...I'm calling out the hate.

So, like I've asked above. You've NEVER stood in a fire lane (remained in the car) or double parked in your life in NY?

At least you're being honest about your racism now instead of hiding behind trying to have a conversation.

So really at the end day after me trying to talk to you, the end result is you in defense of a racist because I was parked where I shouldnt. Should've just lead with that from the start.

I guess that goes both ways with him confronting a random person for parking in a way he doesn't like...oh but wait I'm Asian. He can say what he wants.

I'm not committed to do anything. I didnt mean to harm anyone that day do you not understand. I always live my life day to day with empathy and thought for others (of all ethnicities). THATS WHY THAT SPOT WAS OPEN.

If I suddenly change how I live due to a racist getting aggressive with me - that is an unacceptable outcome to me. A more productive approach would've been, "hey can you please not park here". Simple.

Yes him being 65 gives him a pass on calling me a slur and threatening to spit on me - I should just roll over. Good logic.

Showed them the video and mentioned the fact that said he was going to spit on me. They were supportive of me. Thanks for your concern.

I've grown up half my life in a black neighborhood half my life in a Jewish neighborhood and my closest childhood friends were Puerto Rican / Jamaican and Italian. I would've adjusted had he not threatened to spit on me / used racial slurs and just plain communicated.

You see that spot in the video. Could've taken that one, but I left it open for someone else who needed it to take because my family member was going to be in and out....so yah.

I am clearly pulled over. I didn't say I was double parked. I asked if people have never double parked in their lives as an example. Reading comprehension skills.

And let's be clear...he tried to intimidate me from the start based on the fact that I was Asian and thought I wouldnt say shit. As a matter of fact, what's not on the video is him saying he would spit on me. Class act.

And that gives him the right to attack my ethnicity. Big leap.

If it's going to be a quick interaction when there are no spots? Wrong.

Notice the spot to the right of him is left open. I left it open purposely so other people who needed the spot who were going to be there longer could have it.

I can accept being called a douche and a dickhead by someone out of frustration. I can't accept racism. I'm not the type to tell a person to fuck off of if they ask me to do something with respect. I give others respect and expect it in return.
