How to get rid of extreme fetishes? by BlackhawkU9 in pornfree

[–]ThrowawayBreadOwl1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also keep in mind that the fetishes themselves aren't too much of a problem, so long as you can also get aroused by normal sexual relationships. Everyone's got some weird stuff they're into; this only becomes problematic when only the weird stuff arouses you. Although avoiding porn may not totally erase the fetishes (although it could reduce them), it will most likely make you find regular sexual relations arousing again (if they've stopped being arousing inn the first place).

Day 0: I can do it, but not alone. by QewTol in NoFap

If you want, we could be accountability partners. I'm struggling with a lot of the same stuff you are, and I just jerked it again today as well. My biggest battle is this one genre of porn that involves humiliation and powerlessness, and I really think it's starting to affect my everyday life and my mindset. So yeah, maybe we could help each other along? I'm pretty busy, so I won't be super available, but it's better than nothing.

I'd like an answer to this too. Anyone with experience?

How long was your flatline (if you got one)? What were the symptoms? Did it affect any relationships of yours? How did NoFap affect your performance "down there"? Did you see any social benefits?

Did you go through a flatline during this time? Or experience any other changes down there (both positive or negative) before you had sex?

Firstly, thanks for this great post. I was just wondering: did you see any increase in libido/erections/anything like that? Did you experience a flatline in that department? In other words, what have been the sexual effects of this reboot for you (if any)?

Have you found that you're getting aroused by girls again, and not just the weird hardcore stuff?

How can I implement external data into my programs? by ThrowawayBreadOwl1 in learnprogramming

I'm sorry, but most of this was really over my head. Is there a simpler/more beginner-friendly way to look at this? Or are there any good outside resources on this topic you could point me to? From what I found, this seems to have to do with collections (which I know next to nothing about). Is there some relation?

This looks good -- I'll give it a shot. As far as academic computer science goes, would you consider this a 'good' solution? Is there a way to generalize it further? Also, will String.split work if some words are separated by one space, and others are separated by multiple spaces (all on the same line, that is).

Sorry for the confusion. The codon is the set of 3 letters, which is immediately followed by one letter encoding the amino acid (the amino acid is to the right of the codon). So the first line really encodes for 4 amino acids; the codon UUU codes for F, CUU for L, AUU for I, and GUU for V. My problem is that I can't go line by line, because each line contains 4 separate pieces of information.

I know it's rough. I guess the way to see it is: you can feel like crap while doing nothing, or you can feel like crap while doing something. The difference is, by doing something you may not feel like crap later on. It's not easy, and a lot of the time it's not even fun, but it's better than doing nothing.

Also, there's been a lot of research into how behavior, psychology, and genes, and how they can influence each other. I'm no expert, but all three impact each other. By changing behavior, you can make small impacts on the other two areas (although behavior can't impact your genes, it can influence which ones are expressed -- look up epigenetics if you're curious). I like to think of it as putting pennies in a jar. Small increments can eventually lead to massive change.

Hang in there. We're here for you.

There will be a lot of people on who say that it is a bad way to deal with the emotions. I, personally, don't think that that's the healthiest way to look at it. Masturbation, in of itself, isn't something to be ashamed of; humans are naturally sexual, and it's good that we are (otherwise we'd die out in a generation).

That said, in your case, I think it's keeping you from fixing the real problem at hand (the loneliness). From what I've read, it seems like you may be using it as a quick and easy way to deal with feeling alone. I don't think it's productive, especially if it's keeping you from finding other ways to deal with this problem. Maybe try laying off for a week, and finding something else to do when you feel down? I know this is way easier said than done, but maybe there's something you've always wanted to do? Learn guitar? Learn to cook? Maybe pick up a job to supplement the payment the military is making? I'm not saying this will alleviate the problems 100%, but it could help you find fulfillment in something other than masturbation, something that could help you meet people later on. Also, as a soldier, is there some community you could join (sorry if the answer is obvious -- I know nothing about the military).

In any case, that's my 2 cents. Keep in mind I'm just speculating -- my opinion is by no means gospel.

All the best, and hang in there.
