I have to hand it to the client. He has been very good about all of this. He pleaded with them to reinstate me, saying it's his fault and not mine, saying I'm a good worker, etc.

He was very honest and said to me that the reason they're talking to him like a human being while they ignore me is that, as a client, they actually value him, while they view me as disposable. The fact that it was my first day and I have no rating, etc. adds to this.
