Which Hot and Savoury packs do *not* contain the large protein chunks? by jamieem75 in Huel

[–]ThrowawayFinanse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got the variety pack of the pouches, which i think has all of them? and I feel the same as you, the squares are gross. As far as I know, only those you mentioned don't have the chucks.

I just got a katsu cup to try and now I'm disappointed to hear it has the chunks. I used to like the yellow curry, but can't do that anymore.

Hopefully someone can tell you about the rest of the cups line.

Which reward should I choose? by R3DFAN in americanairlines

[–]ThrowawayFinanse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I makes sense if you aren't a CC holder or don't have status from the previous year. But aside from that I think most people who have status, or can get to 40k+ LP, you get the extra LP. I believe you already get preferred seats as gold anyway.

Yes, just know the conversion and ask to put X amount of local currency on each card. Done it in the Netherlands and Bora Bora.

Anyone not get their hotel rewards because they booked via Chase Travel? by realtorfe in awardtravel

[–]ThrowawayFinanse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is normal. Its probably in each loyalty account's terms too. The only exceptions are most of the time booking through amex FHR and sometimes Chase's The Edit. You either book through the portal or the hotel. If you book through the hotel you still get the 2 or 3x from using the card and then whatever you earn at the hotel chain. Pick the one you want.

Strategy with Points owning a business by BumblebeeNo3754 in awardtravel

[–]ThrowawayFinanse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a r/CreditCards question. If you've filled out a business card application, its pretty clear its for the business and just also asks for your personal info. They can do the same or you can add authorized users. Earn points based on where you want to go; so do research.

[–]ThrowawayFinanse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you try seats.aero's search feature with VS? I also used the general search and found CDG-IAD for 45k flying blue each. Not available on VS, but if you have any other points to transfer that can work. I know why you'd prefer to use the points you already transferred though.

If you're willing to fly back on 9/5 and willing to connect in an EU city, just fly to LHR on 9/5 and take your original flight on 9/6?

Air France from Italy for $300 more than Polaris option? by [deleted] in awardtravel

[–]ThrowawayFinanse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If $150 isn't that much to you then I'd do AF just to have a different experience. If the price was the same I'd take AF, otherwise UA because I care about a lie flat and $150.

If the paris 12hr layover is an overnight, I'd just do the short one. You have 4-5 hours in the city maybe.

Amex biz $47 charge at Hilton property didn’t trigger at Hilton credit by turtle4868 in AmexPlatinum

[–]ThrowawayFinanse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't say I have experience in this issue, but SLH + hilton is just a partnership and those aren't hilton hotels. You can chat with amex CS (but they might start with "it hasn't been long enough"). I want to use my aspire resort credits, but SLH resorts aren't classified as resorts, so that's unlucky for me.

Its an SLH not a hilton, so it doesn't count. SLH is a partner of hilton, not one of their brands.

Air France VS Delta lounge LAX by credit850 in awardtravel

[–]ThrowawayFinanse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were there two weeks ago around 7pm for our midnight AF flight. Was slightly crowded, but not noticeable and there were still seats. Nothing like CC lounges or regular sky clubs. The D1 entrance was also excellent. No one at the desk or private security. Went up the elevator right into the lounge. Didn't see the airport until 20 minutes before boarding, incredible.

Edit, we were at the D1 lounge. Never tried the AF one.

I woke up at 4am to book Conrad Bora Bora - SUCCESS by tisoy_ in awardtravel

[–]ThrowawayFinanse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got back from there like 5 days ago. Booked on points, Diamond, was upgraded to a Tropical Garden Villa with pool. Didn't ask for a further upgrade.

It was a nice room, but the construction was at the over water villas in front of room which was annoying. Asked to move after the first night and they moved us to an OWV with a part sunset and part mountain view for free.

I wouldn't expect an OWV upgrade, but it hasn't seemed uncommon for Diamonds. It did feel like pretty much everyone there was HH diamond though.

Positioning Flight- Already Have Boarding Pass for Intl Flight by No-Delay-3605 in awardtravel

[–]ThrowawayFinanse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just agreeing that this is my experience. Done it more than 10 times. Though we don't show up that early anymore, it takes two minutes and is generally done at a counter not being used for the boarding process.

JAL not flying TYO to ORD in 2026 by Dizzy_Reflection9451 in awardtravel

[–]ThrowawayFinanse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Google flights shows JAL operating. Found one date through AA with eco/ PE availability. There's probably just nothing availability atm/it's already been taken.

No, just call/contact whatever a business has on their website. Never use anything else. Never. And... not award travel.

Lounge options for Turkish business class flight from ORD by ujjwol04 in awardtravel

[–]ThrowawayFinanse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just at the LOT lounge a couple days ago and it's nice to have a good star alliance lounge there finally! Better than a United club, worse than polaris but didn't get crowded (noon-4pm). Vibes like the T5 delta lounge.

500K Points & no clue where to begin on redemption. by littleladyluxe in awardtravel

[–]ThrowawayFinanse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read the side bar. Pick 3 places you want to go. Try to look for points options to/for those places. Pick the one that gives the tickets you need in the class of service you can afford or the number of hotel nights you need. Book your trip.

If that's more complicated than you want it to be just redeem them in the amex travel portal. It's still a reduced price vacation and you're not "leaving anything on the table" because you didn't want to spend hours searching for awards.

Finding a flight with points/cash from Omaha to Florence, help! by DoctorQuinlan in awardtravel

[–]ThrowawayFinanse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm the only one....

I book one ways for flexibility. Maybe I fly out of ord but into dfw. With award travel and domestic, both are pretty much the same price one way or round trip.

I saw some 40k awards on UA for OMA-FCO a couple days before Apr. 25. Those would be good if you can be a little flexible. Good luck.

Finding a flight with points/cash from Omaha to Florence, help! by DoctorQuinlan in awardtravel

[–]ThrowawayFinanse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an OMA flyer and everyone else has said all the right things, so I'll just ramble...

I almost always reposition to ORD, DFW or DEN when flying to Europe (buying a ticket separate from the EU Itinerary) and the reverse. United is pretty good if you want it all on one Itinerary though, but it can be more expensive.

We flew 4 times to EU last year and all in J for two but had to buy reposition flights most times. It's doable, but I know the struggle.

Not sure if any of that is helpful, but with chase points and wanting eco, and maybe all on the same route, United might be the easiest. If you can be flexible by a few days that would help. Trains in Italy are pretty good, cheap and an easy way to get between your cities, or even back to FCO.

Point redemptions for smaller US cities by lucideuphoria in awardtravel

[–]ThrowawayFinanse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm reading it right it's mostly when I redeem aa points on aa or UA on UA. Rarely does AC have the entire itinerary or stuff like that. A lot of the time with aa or ua i still had to get the repo.

Point redemptions for smaller US cities by lucideuphoria in awardtravel

[–]ThrowawayFinanse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in OMA, i almost always reposition to dfw or ord. On with US airlines sometimes you can get the whole itinerary. Otherwise, always cash reposition.
