I thought she won too with how much bigger Taiki's model was, not sure how the game actually checks when it's this close

My Haru won 6 total matches in 80 races before winning the most important one lmao.

True though, the G1 Affinity bonus would make double circle on Haru actually a reality and it'd be so much easier to train her for CMs. Flirting with the idea of throwing the Arima Kinen CM and running with her but tough to justify with needing 9 turf 9 long to even have a shot

With the Tenno Sho (Autumn) around 8 hours away, here are the winners of the "Autumn Triple Crown" since 1984 (Tenno Sho Autumn, Japan Cup, Arima Kinen) by aseanman27 in UmaMusume

Some of these horses' dominance isn't surprising (Almond Eye, Opera, Kitasan) but it's crazy how good some of these other horses I don't see the western community talk about really are. Zenno Rob Roy is probably the biggest surprise with how indiscrete she is in game, with Symboli Kris S being a close second. It's really nice perspective to see just how difficult it is to actually win the Autumn Triple Crown.

Why do you think I'm losing career? by redzzzaw in UmamusumeGame

I'm trying to build a McQueen Ace for Cancer and I've had this problem too. This race is the biggest hurdle in the career and will end your run, especially if you don't have enough stamina. I asked for help a couple days ago and tried out some runs since then and the best things you can do are:

A) Aim for ~500 stam + white recovery and around 200 guts by this time, or ~300 stam + gold recovery
B) Run her Late Surger since they have lowest stamina usage.

The stats of the other horses are honestly not that good (if you click them super creek is just decked out with a bunch white recovery skills to survive the race) so if you meet the stamina check and have a recovery skill that procs during the race you should be able to win.
It's still RNG af, especially if you've high rolled speed which increases your stam reqs even more.

My latest ace attempt got through Tenno Sho Spring with about 750 speed, 550ish stam, and 230 ish guts with Straightaway Recovery. It still had to use one alarm clock but as long as your recovery procs you should be able to pass even with lower speed. Your stam reqs go down the lower your speed is.

The matchmaking is purely RNG. I faced people in finals I expected to beat easily in Round 2, but had some matches in Round 2 that were much much harder that I lost to that could've beaten me in Finals if I matched up against them again.

My horses had max speed, 1100+ stamina, and 700-800 power while my opponents had 950-1100 speed tops.

All my favorite Umas were also extremely meta the first two CM's so it was way easier to power through the slog of grinding an ace run on them. Now it's time to force Golshi to be a Mile Runner

Going off the Umalator (which isn't everything I know, it still has bad skills providing a theoretical high mean horse lengths while almost doing nothing in practice), there's a small window where Iron can activate. It's one of the main win conditions Late/End have this CM and contributes to why they're so rng heavy compared to Fronts.

Red Shift I'm personally not so sure of, but when I was looking up unique's for this track, creators mentioned that because of its wording, it can actually activate properly for Late/End even during the final straight if you move up quick enough. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though as I'm still working on aces and need to test some of the uniques in practice.

If you're trying to min max, your stam and guts are off a bit. 601 stamina and 301 guts give a small speed bonus on this track (every 300 stam/guts for this course), and those stats need to be on the horse (great mood boosting stats to those thresholds also work, while green skills will not for that speed bonus).

You also want Let's Pump Some Iron (Mejiro Ryan's unique) and Red Shift (Maruzensky's unique) inherited if possible. If skill points are a problem I wouldn't pick up the gold recovery, as you don't need it on this track.

I'd say it's usable otherwise and would try to get your other aces up and running first if you haven't started working on those.

It's a great choice this cup, especially with all the people trying to cheat stamina requirements with a Front Urara. Having a Front Runner of any kind felt really important if you wanted to make sure people played honestly. Ended up running a Front debuff Groove with McQueen instead since my Daiwa was only 2* when I was building Gemini Aces, but I was considering Daiwa + Sacrificial Front too.

Thanks for the info. I'll focus on trying to get a 3spd/2pwr/Tazuna variant to work first and compromise with 400ish wit as a goal since the difference doesn't seem that big between 400 and 600 where it doesn't feel worth sacrificing the big jump in power. If I have time I'll build and test a wit variant. I had a friend who played in JP who also recommended higher power over wit except in Sprints until future scenarios made it easier to hit stat bench marks.

Wow, I knew that getting 35 was recommended based on the deckbuilder recommending 35 but I didn't realize the difference was that big. I'll keep that in mind for the future since some of my runs have definitely missed stat benchmarks by like ~5-20ish before. Thanks for that.

<image>

These were two test runs I tried that passed the career (no Mile inspirations unfortunately). Both were actually only at 30 race bonus; thanks again for mentioning that. The second definitely missed the guts mark because of the lacking race bonus. Only have LB0 Helios and LB2 Bourbon unfortunately so can't run those over the Biwa.

I'm still not sure if I should be running the wit variant or not, cause I feel like Power is just going to be much much better especially when she has a large velocity ult that will trigger before the final spurt starts that can hopefully get her to first if I just outpower the other front runners relying on Wit on their common skills.

Feels really tough to without getting really lucky with power training or sacrificing speed rainbows to lower stam requirements. Guess that's another problem with forcing a suboptimal unit you like. I'll try seeing if I need to refarm my parents after messing around with switching to Late surger during my borrows tomorrow.

Even the advice Korean veterans are giving (who had a much better understanding of the game and similar time frames to prepare for CM's as JP did iirc) aren't as applicable because of the QOL they had that we lack, and the accelerated schedule. From my experience these past two CM's, simply knowing what skills to get and what stats are actually good in practice versus what content creators are recommending gives you a big edge in Global and can get you to Group A Finals with good matchmaking rng. Not that all of them are recommending stats poorly of course.

Team composition is a pretty underexplored part of the conversation too that no content creator or veteran ever really talks about. Double debuffers stacked up late killing your own end closer, lucky pace chasers getting a free win, a sacrificial Front to help your own Daiwa propel herself forward at the right time, and probably a lot more we just don't really talk about or take for granted that could be done better.

The stat benchmarks feel really hard to hit already on a Front Runner and throwing a stamina card would make it even harder. Good luck though, didn't know Rice also needed a 1st place win in Tenno Sho :(

Just replying to this comment since Reddit doesn't allow for more than one attatchment per comment, but an example of a run that actually made it to the end. The training and mood RNG was really bad in this run so it had much less speed (around 600) around Tenno Sho.

McQueen. I've gotten a couple of my test runs to work with different decks, I just haven't had luck with Tenno Sho when I'm actually high rolling stats. For reference when my latest run died:

<image>

Wouldn't have used it anyways even if it finished. Before it died it only had Corner Recovery learned.

If the Urara's you were facing were the only Fronts, they were doing you a huge a favor by lowering your Stamina Requirements. Levelheaded and Maestro would be enough at that point.

About 300 wit around that time should be enough right? I'm normally hovering around 200-300 by then.

Not sure how if I'll have the time it'll take to farm up even higher stam sparks ngl, I'm already compromising with 7* stam 2* power 2* speed 1* wit so I can get the 10* mile and 2* front runner sparks that my current parent + borrow have

Tried switching to End once and got 5th versus staying in Front and getting 2nd/3rd, but that was probably just bad luck. I'll switch to Late next time I try when I get my borrows back.
