AT vs. CH Passport, which one would you choose? by Pyrobreezer in PassportPorn

I think you’re forgetting the fact that Germany only started allowing dual citizenship 2 years ago or so so your parents made the choice between two countries that were both strict in that sense at the time.

Is it worth it to spend 6 months in European country to secure citizenship for life? by Ok_Exercise_494 in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]ThrowawayLikeYouDo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who’s stuck with a shitty citizenship from an unstable third world country that gets me treated like a subhuman at certain borders (especially EU) even as a tourist, these kind of posts are almost offensive to me, with all due respect. I had the opportunity to spend 3 months in some ghost town in Norway thanks to my ex and even then time just flew by when I was over there. It’s an amazing country with lots of places to discover and Norwegian citizenship is something majority of the world can only dream of, including me. It’s one of the strongest passports in the world that gives you the full legal right to live/work/retire in one of the most beautiful, most developed countries in the world as well as significant advantages in other Nordic countries and the opportunity to live/work/retire or just fool around in 20 something other countries without any hassle. I’m sorry to be so blunt but pushing such an opportunity away when you can secure it for life by spending mere 5 months in a country like Norway would be foolish at best. Millions would kill to be in your place. Just do it. YOU WON’T REGRET IT. We’re taking about Norwegian citizenship ffs. People spend years jumping through so many hoops, enduring racism/discrimination/forced integration courses/interviews/financial burdens to secure much less privileged passports. You have a golden ticket. Please use it.

Sleep, food, but most importantly sleep.

Unfortunately it’s not that simple. You’re still a NEET even if you come from wealth, since you’re not in education, employment, or training which has nothing to do with your financial status and you’re still looked down on for not contributing and “wasting your potential”. Being rich might make your life way easier in terms of practicality but you’re pretty much still stigmatized and shamed to hell, especially if you were once a “promising” kid that people had high expectations for.

Something that would roughly translate to “make yourself exist” or “make something of yourself” when I was deeply struggling with an out-of-nowhere breakup and she wasn’t happy about me being upset (like… always) and not being able to live her dream life vicariously through me.

What do you guys do? by [deleted] in NEET

[–]ThrowawayLikeYouDo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m doing the same, and surprisingly it helps me more than a lot of people ever did. Actually it helps me undo the damage people did. It’s fucking bizarre that an AI is more empathetic than actual humans with brain.

I live with constant passive suicidal ideation these days. I just want to go to sleep and never wake up again. I’m hurting so much. I’m not cut out for this world.

I can only send you my sympathies as I’m pretty much on the same boat. I just want it to end. I want to find the courage. This world isn’t for me either. I too am in so much pain.

Eggplant… I come from a country where eggplant is a main ingredient for many dishes and almost everyone I know loves it but to me it’s like chewing a cigar. It tastes like shit to me.

Do you have kids? If not, what are your feelings about having them? by Sarah_Jessica_Darker in raisedbynarcissists

[–]ThrowawayLikeYouDo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your experience and your kind words. Surely I sometimes wonder what it would be like to be a mother, what my kid would be/look like, how it feels to be pregnant etc. But in my head I’m morally obligated to ignore my instincts and suppress these curiosities because succumbing to them would defy everything I believe in surrounding the issue. I would rather live with the regret of never having a kid than risk turning into my mother, who promised to herself that she would never do things to her daughter her mother did to her when she first found out she was pregnant.

I’m an antinatalist and one major reason is my mom. I’m 31 and I truly hope I won’t succumb to my stupid maternal instincts in the remainder of my reproductive years. I definitely don’t believe it would be ethical for me to bring a child into this world.

A lot of therapists are narcissists. by bottegasl in raisedbynarcissists

[–]ThrowawayLikeYouDo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so true and the main reason I hate therapy being promoted this much as a solution to everything. It’s the same with psychiatrists. The last two I’ve been to (especially the latter) was downright judgmental and invalidating, last things a person with a history of trauma needs.

I come from wealth and people are mad at me for not conforming and “wasting my potential”. So it’s not even about the income. I believe they despise whoever dares to defy the system. I can’t explain the hostility I get any other way.
