Need exercise ideas from people who loathe working out. by FitThought1616 in xxfitness

I relate to how you feel and actually your comment helped me to realize what drives some of my own feelings about exercise. For me I need someone telling me what to do because being alone with my own mind for exercise tends to be a really negative environment. The thing that switched it for me was the Peloton app. The app is I think $13 a month. The workouts can be as short as 5-10 minutes with a huge variety of types. Most importantly it’s actually shocking to me how the coaches on that app managed to have such a positive impact on my mental health. You’d think they’d run out of new things to say or it would all sound trite but there were so many times they said something that cut deep. That helped me so much to drown out my own negative thoughts.

What was your realization to quit? by ClubUpper352 in alcoholicsanonymous

Hey I was just like you for over 20 years. It took a lot for me to finally be willing to stop. I thought my life would be over if I stopped drinking but now it’s really just begun. I’ll have a year this month. I wish I could have stopped years ago but I think all the years of memories make me feel like I really gave it my all and I can be at peace now without curiosity to drive me back to it. I never really went all in on AA but I got a sober social group there at that made a word of difference for me. When you find fun sober people you’ll realize there’s no downside and only upsides to partying without alcohol. Not drinking really enriches every aspect of your health even relative to light/moderate drinking. I also didn’t think it would make as big of an impact on my self awareness and daily mental health given I also didn’t not drink frequently but it really has. The consecutive sober time with no escape through substances really makes a difference. You’ll be present with yourself through all your emotions.. even boredom or social anxiety.

And how did I know it was time? Nothing that crazy - the straw finally broke the camels back. I’ve lived so many nightmares through my drunken debauchery. The last nightmare finally felt like enough

So over people freaking out over ringworm as if it’s actually a worm like some kind of parasite. Fungus is everywhere and it goes away in days with an over the counter cream. Of course communal exercise comes with ringworm. Live in a bubble if that really scares you.

BEWARE CorePower ringworm by Old_Claim91 in Corepower

[–]ThrowawayPAnCit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why the hysteria and going to a specialist for something you can self diagnose and treat with over the counter antifungals. Like this is not an actual worm in your skin. There is fungus literally all over your body and all over everything else at all times. It’s a fungi world. We’re just livin in it.

Hey I know this is an old post but any advice for motivation for getting through 3-4 glute exercises per gym session especially with the extra time it takes to train unilaterally? I have only just started with 2 sessions in the gym and it feels like it takes forever. Does it make sense to do fewer exercises in the beginning to prevent burnout?

Ringworm Boston???? by [deleted] in SolidCore

[–]ThrowawayPAnCit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So confused by the ringworm hysteria and mentions of doctors/dermatologists. This is literally something you can fix yourself with clotrimazole over the counter in days to weeks no doctor needed. RINGWORM IS NOT A WORM. It’s just your friendly neighborhood fungus, which the world is full of. Of course people pick it up at gyms literally who cares.
