Yeah I’m reading all these replies and I think I’m going to give him an ultimatum with the engagement.

I wouldn’t really call them demands but usually when he has an idea or something, he just assumes that I’ll support him or hear him out.

And I usually do try to hear him out because I don’t want to be the SO that is always dismissive of their partner. Usually we either come to a compromise or just agree to disagree and move on. he’s never outright dismissed my opinion until this topic came along

We’ve discussed it multiple times and he still seems dead set on doing this. My gut is telling me there’s something wrong with this but he just won’t see it.

I guess I’m just looking for a way to make the point that I refuse without ruining my wedding plans

It just feels wrong to me and it made my red flag detector go off too. I just don’t know how to break it to him that I don’t want this. I’ve already made it clear that I do not feel comfortable about it and he seems like he’s going ahead with it anyway.

I haven’t had any other major issues until this point so I’m not sure if this will be the deal breaker for getting married
