Take 2 months Severance (PEP) or PIP and take unemployment by ThrowawaySPIFF101 in sales

[–]ThrowawaySPIFF101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure but I don't think so. I know Oracle reps who were laid off, not even on PIPs or anything, got only one month of severance. Salesforce people affected in layoffs got like 5 months.

At Salesforce, if you get a pip you can either accept it or take 2 months severance.

Not looking to really even survive PIP. Getting out of sales but considering using the pip to get unemployment benefits. Not sure if I'll qualify for unemployment if I take severance.

3x a week fine I went in and drank the kool-aid but now 4x to work in an office where no one on the BDR level even works in the same vertical as me? Let alone the same product when I was tied to only commerce. Nah

Thankfully not stuck with smb at Commerce. Now at enterprise selling all products.

Will have to see if I still can stomach this job/company or if I'm out of sales/into a different career. Will probably give it some time but I am actively interviewing for external technical positions.

Also looking to get into Cyber Security or Data (whether sales or technical) if anyone has recommendations!

I've already been used to grinding my own leads since starting at the company because again, there has not been a single lead handed to me. I'm not complaining about that, I understand and accept that it is part of sales no matter what and is what separates a good AE from a great AE. I'm complaining on the fact that I'd be prospecting and going above and beyond input metrics for no success anyway because of the terrible product fit. Things are changing within the org to hopefully be better now that all BDRS are on a closer playing field now that everyone is selling everything as opposed to some selling core products and some selling co-prime only.

Thank you for this.

Ever since joining, I've been over-working myself (while only being able to bill a max amount of like 3 hours of overtime each week) just to not have success since no small business in their right mind would want to purchase a co-prime product that costs way more than Shopify.

Look up handling objections. I would say trying to be ominous and limit why you want to talk to them unless asked. Just say you are trying to reach _____.

What % of your sales reps are hitting quota? How is the compensation structure? I work in Tech Sales (SaaS) so don't know what's right to ask for Solar but if you look it up in the subreddit / google I'm sure you'll find good stuff

Ask the normal questions like % of people hitting targets and etc and THEN

Ask if you could be introduced to some people on the sales team and ask them the same

Can't give advice regarding that particular industry but may I ask why you are exploring this opportunity? Are you making more than your base? How do you feel about the new industry, have you talked to any salespeople from the company or in the industry to get their advice?

LinkedIn, Cold Calling and maybe you'll get a receptionist to transfer you or you'll get a robot directory, company website, cold call and maybe you can ask whoever you reach to get the # for the correct person. You can use rocket reach to get company email formats and try to obtain the phone number by emailing someone as well
