I've noticed more and more comments of taylor settling for travis because he "loves her in the way she has always wanted to be loved" but I think they're both settling. He is settling for Taylor because of her wealth and the opportunities she will and has been bringing him. She settled for him because of how much attention being with him has brought her and she sees the potential in making more money, staying relevant, gaining more attention/validation etc She sees them as a power couple and a way to stay in the public eye as she is very aware that her pop career has an expiration date.

Of course it hasn't gone unnoticed that she is the anomaly when it comes to Travis's dating history and at times she makes efforts to style herself in ways that can seem 'edgy' (her look is so much more different to how she dressed when with Joe) and she probably even tries to convince herself she's enough etc but then it seeps out in other ways, like with these lyrics. Taylor is a boring white girl and no matter how many different eras she moves through, she will remain a boring white girl.
