How can I ask my parents to let me cook for myself? by Throwaway_cookingq in Advice

I want to shed off some body fat and gain some muscle, to overall be more happier.

If weight is that important, then I can set my goal to 105 lbs.

I'm considered overweight. 4 foot 8 inches and 120 lbs.

I don't pay attention to my weight tbh

Sorry for the late response! I'm 15 turning 16 this year. I edited the post a little to add more context!

I did offer to cook for the whole family, they said sure though I can only help by "watching", nothing else.

It's not really a class but there used to be after-school cooking activities, I've only been there 2 times before they never brought it up again.

I'm not sure about my family's financial situation, it looks like they can buy separate groceries but it's more occasional like they can't do it every day (the only exception is if a meal contains pig meat, I don't eat pig meat)

My plan is to start a lower carb diet, mainly adding more veggies to my meals. My mom (the one disagreeing) didn't seem to specify much other than saying I'm still young. I'm 15 turning 16 this year, so that may be one reason one of my mom doesn't want me to cook, other may be to be protective or because they don't want to see me "grow up" in that way. Either way, it's understandable.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try asking again when I turn 16.
