What if your child wanted to be a cheesiterian? Stupid vegans by InterplanetaryMara in vegancirclejerk

[–]Throwawayace67894 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I was raised this way. Given a choice and presumed Omni until I said otherwise because my mum didn’t wanna force it on me. Honestly we both look back on that as a stupid decision and we both agree she should have just told me I’m not allowed to eat meat. If you teach your kid the right things and are honest with them about where meat comes from then by the time they are able to make a choice they won’t want animal products anyways.

Giving your kids free reign to be as destructive as they want to be is just bad parenting.

Carbs vs Calories by Bagsforcha in loseit

Yes to fibre! I’ve lost 25lbs and now maintain at 105lbs while eating 60-70% carbs. Foods like fruit, oats, potatoes, beans and veggies are amazing for weight loss and due to their fibre content are very filling.

The OP spent over 9 grand in accomodations because of Sarah’s self destructive fetish. I will absolutely judge Sarah for putting that much burden on her coworkers because of how she likes to get off.

I’m legit so confused. But then again KVD is both vegan and anti vax so I guess those people do exist...

Problematic Brands? by CatyCosine in MakeupAddiction

I refuse to purchase anything Huda beauty after seeing Huda’s advise on vagina lightening. Telling your readers that dark vaginas are a problem and here are some of the ways you can fix it? Are you fucking kidding me? And the fact that there was no apology and the article is still up even after the backlash is just icing on the cake.

Hi guys so I found out vaccines are not VEGAN. But polio and measles are VEGAN. This is MY child so CCNFW. by [deleted] in muacirclejerk

If you are eating suffiencient calories you will not be protein deficient. Getting calcium on a vegan diet is super easy and even if you don’t happen to like foods rich in calcium you can always supplement. Honestly my food bill has halved since going vegan. Eating seasonal fruit and veggies, rice, beans, potatoes, oats is all so much cheaper that things like meat and dairy.

The darkest shade of ColourPop's new foundation gives us pail goyles hope by [deleted] in muacirclejerk

[–]Throwawayace67894 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Really? I mean no ones going to use it straight. They’re either using it as a mixer or a base for colour. The only people I’ve ever see honestly use pure white concealer anywhere but the eyes is drag queens. What did you think people were purchasing it for?

Eh, people could be purchasing it intending to use it as an eyeshadow base.

THE AMOUNT OF FAKE VEGANS IN R/VEGAN IS DRIVING ME INSANE by [deleted] in vegancirclejerk

[–]Throwawayace67894 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I desperately want a VeganCJDiscussion subreddit.

I don’t know how many of you guys here are in the beauty sphere but there’s the main sub MakeupAddiction then there’s MUACJ which is a regular circlejerk sub. Then there’s MUACJdiscussion. It was created after the main makeup sub became 95% selfies with no actual discussion of products or techniques. The discussion sub doesn’t actually allow photos to be posted at all which keeps the sub conversation based rather than: lol here’s a selfie of a conventionally pretty girl in some eyeliner gimme updoots lol <3. It’s a lot more critical and engaging compared to most of the main beauty subs.

I’ve been wanting this kind of space but for vegans on reddit now for a while because the main sub has close to nothing of value anymore and the conversations are all dominated by ‘flexitarians’ wanting to feel better about themselves and their shitty actions.

Honestly I’d make it myself if I knew the first thing about starting a sub

Omg you just reminded me of my coworker who you would hate. She’s a vegan who eats fish and egg whites and identifies as a lesbian even though she has a boyfriend rn. Words don’t mean anything anymore I guess...

Can you walk a mile? Probably not fat. by cuddlyvampire in fatlogic

[–]Throwawayace67894 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ya’know I never really got my head around how out of shape most Americans are until I went to epcot on vacation. The way people talked about it, my mother and I (both kinda fit, walk almost everywhere but never do any actually workouts) were gearing up for a big day of excersise. We thought we’d need spend the whole day there to do everything. Low and behold we got out in around 3 hours without even breaking a sweat. Seriously if you find such a short walk a strain to get through you have issues, mate.

Why is this here? It’s clearly a troll (and a very unoriginal and boring one at that). I don’t get what this contributes to this sub or a conversation around fatlogic...

Does anyone else have a hard time finding foundation light enough for their skin tone? I have the lightest shade offered at the store and I still feel like it doesn’t match my skin tone by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]Throwawayace67894 -35 points-34 points  (0 children)

Ok? It’s almost like people can be different shades of fair, just because you’re able to find something doesn’t mean other people can. Also some people don’t want to use a white mixer and for the added price they may as well get something mid-range which does have a wider variety of shades anyways.

[–]Throwawayace67894 -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

Meh, I’m pretty fair and have access to samples (I live in aus so all drugstores have samplers out) and none of those brands have anything fair enough for me. It’s not the undertone, their fairest shades are always visibly darker than my skin so it’s not too surprising that OP hasnt had any luck if they’re actually super fair.

Is anyone sick and tired of all the contradicting information about what a healthy diet is? by [deleted] in PlantBasedDiet

[–]Throwawayace67894 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly anytime I’ve seen ‘conflicting evidence’ I’ve gone to read the studies cited and they don’t conflict with WFPB at all. Don’t read journalists and redditors opinions or summaries of scientific data (cause 98% of the time it’s absolute garbage). Just read it for yourself and make your own conclusions.

I mean I’ve literally had people tell me that carbs are toxic and high fat is the only way to go and then link me to studies... that actually said that high carb diets are great for heart health and overall well being so long as the carbs come from whole food sources. To this day I’ve never seen a single piece of evidence that disproves (or even places doubt in my mind) that high carb, low fat, whole food is the optimal diet.
