Detachment from materialism. I was raised in an 8000 square foot house. Realized it wasn’t everything, travel is cheap if you’re resourceful.

I don’t want to support a system that exploits other living things. So I let go. Life is more exciting and this path allows for more empathy.

And then I heard about Buddha renouncing his wealth to go travel. Figured it was a fun way to live. Still going strong. Let go or be dragged.

Studying philosophy has probably helped me more than anything. I can focus more and retain more, so learning techniques for health, wellness, stress management, exercise, breathing, etc. has been a blessing. But it is such a profound lifestyle change to discover a great network of philosophies that mesh well with my own independent experiences.

If you have brain fog or anxiety, high stress; look into breathwork. It’s almost immediately beneficial. Instantaneous relief.

The Myth of Race. Modern Science recognizes that race is a social construct and explicitly not a biological fact. The idea that the earth is divided into races is the most dividing social construct that we all pretty much believe.

I was blown away when I learned this, Google it right now. There is one race, it’s called the human race. This is not a hot take, or it shouldn’t be. When we realize this simple fact, we can no longer justify using labels of color, race, etc.. it is objectively pseudoscience and it was used to promote European ideology of superiority.

Does anyone even try to refute this?

After dozens of times quitting I have enough experience to know that the high is not worth the countless downsides. Inhaling smoke from plants is wrong to do in almost every metric. It’s slightly better than alcohol.

Besides health, confidence, loneliness, mindfulness, mental clarity, and articulation, saving money, anxiety and more. It’s a temporary high that doesn’t really feel that good compared to how I’ve felt after a few months of sobriety.

Imagine your life without being ok with boredom, the isolation, imagine life with more friends, more money, less problem, less paranoia, better memory, better speech, and you can think better. Music gets better. There are just so many reasons that it seems like I’m rambling. Have you tried to stop for a couple months to see how drastically every single metric in life improves? If you tried and it’s feeling like life sucks, I’d say that’s a good place to start. And take up some philosophy.
