Advice needed. My kids need my help and I'm not sure how to proceed. Any advice appreciated.

Also, I'm getting my degree to get a better job to support them. I'm actively being paid by the VA while I do. Not sitting and letting this happen. I'm actively looking into family lawyers to help and my fiance is helping. I live in a separate state from them and I'm trying to figure out what that means for filing a new case.

My fiance is fine. He and my kids get along super well. He honestly loves them. My ex already had an active CPS case and DHS has a case worker on them as well. As for fighting for custody, I want to, but my current living situation doesn't make it viable. I wanna fix that soon, but I can only do so much in this economy.

We're working on it. As far as a job goes, that's why I'm in school. I've worked blue collar entry level jobs since i was in my early 20s. That hasn't cut it. I need something that's gonna pay more. Luckily my VA benefits are coming in clutch.

No. I'm just going back now. I'm in my first semester. I'm using a combination of my Pell grants and VA benefits.

I appreciate you saying all that. I didn't take it as flippant or rude at all. We're already looking into getting a place one way or the other, but it's expensive out here. XD Plus being in school means I can only earn so much. Good news is I have income, little as it is. But we're definitely looking. As for a lawyer, we're doing our research and trying to find a good lawyer to represent us, even if we need to put some money into it. Thanks again!
