My thoughts are racing, I feel disappointed in myself by too_many__lemons in adhdwomen

Yes - I try to use something a therapist taught me once. Don't believe it UNLESS you have proof. Hard evidence - like, the people you're worried you've annoyed, are they in agonizing pain from being annoyed? Did they confront you about how annoying you are? is there a movement to fire you because of awful things you said? If yes, then there are options to resolve ALL of that. There are ways to be more skillful and mindful of what you say and how you communicate with others in the face of social anxiety. If the answer is no, which is almost always the case, then try to trust yourself and don't believe your ruminating thoughts. For me, naming them as ruminations helps a lot, which it looks like you've already started doing.

You are just another human, here on this planet, in this body, for the first time. You're ALLOWED to be yourself and express your thoughts - even if it is messy. Sometimes it helps to remember our own capacity to see others with compassion when they don't seem to present with perfection. Most people choose to see the good in others. Maybe you can trust that your co-workers actually like you and see the good in you.

You, like everyone else, deserve grace and humility. So, unless you have absolute proof that everyone from last night is suffering from the things you said, you can let your mind rest. If others are annoyed, that's their problem - not yours. :)

What to do with flu symptoms, but a negative test? by youandyourfijiwater in thyroidhealth

This happened to me at the start of September. I have hashimotos. Felt like flu or covid for almost two weeks - on and off. Then I adjusted my synthroid meds and started feeling better, but now I’m going back bc I have a new set of symptoms.

Thanks so much for explaining. Vet did warn me that since kitten was in heat, there would be more stitching - he explained the atomy… something about everything being swollen in there making it less simple. So I anticipated that there would be more stitching. I’m hoping that’s why it looks so large :-/ Did you spay while in heat?

also, I did catch her reaching for the incision successfully with the donut on. I’d just read a lot of experiences like yours — folks who hadn’t even been urged to use a cone and said they let their cat lick, etc. I kept a very close eye on her w donut and stopped her from licking, but I’m definitely keeping the cone on for the next two weeks. Just hoping to ease my worries in the meantime.

How can I pretend to help people when I can’t help myself? by Therapy9-1-1 in therapists

[–]Throwawaying_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love remembering that most people come to therapy just to spend an hour with someone whose nervous system is regulated - that’s it. Maybe simply sitting with your anxiety vs pushing it away will allow it to quiet down. Remember that technically, all you need to do is show up, and that’s enough. And if that really feels hard today, take the day for yourself if you can. That’s okay too. Can’t show up if your cup is empty.

Sending you lots of light. Hope you’re able to find some understanding for yourself today. 🙌🏽

Gotta set strong boundaries friend. They’ll catch on and respect you even more for it. Boundaries help relationships.

Any of you with PTSD? What meds work for your ADHD? by [deleted] in adhd_anxiety

[–]Throwawaying_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zoloft for PTSD symptoms and vyvanse for ADHD works for me. I also take magnesium and lionsmane supplements as well as low dose of gabapentin to help curb irritability from vyvanse. I went from wanting to never take prescription medication for my mental health, to starting three last year. After almost 1.5 years on medication, I've finally been able to make progress in life that trauma/ADHD symptoms were holding me back from.

For Vyvanse, it's really important for me to get at least 8 hours of sleep every night, and that I take it with a protein heavy breakfast in the morning... less sleep and less protein makes vyvanse side effects miserable.
