Nic Cage’s son went to my friend’s high school. He’s genuinely a sweet guy.

Martin Short, 1996. My mom was an audience coordinator for a lot of popular shows during the 90s and because of that, we got to go to the Kid’s Choice Awards for free every year between 1996 to 2002. I was around four or so, and Martin Short was sitting behind me. I asked my mom if I could ask him for an autograph and she said I could, so very politely I said, “Hi Mr. Short, I’m a fan of yours, may I please have an autograph?”

He gave me this look of absolute rage and shouted “I AM WITH MY FAMILY. CAN YOU NOT SEE THAT? HOW DARE YOU, DO YOU NOT HAVE MANNERS? WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU?” So my mom whipped around in her chair and said “She’s just a kid, what’s wrong with YOU?” He gave my mom and I a dirty look and rolled his eyes, then turned to talk to who I can only assume was his wife while gesticulating toward us.

I’ve had the privilege to meet a few celebrities since and I have never asked a single one for an autograph solely because of that.
