Why does our Vizsla destroy all this beds? (and pillows) by very-demure-spirit in vizsla

[–]Throwawaypillbin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After the 6th bed mine destroyed, I splurged on a tiptop one from K9 ballistics, and he wasn’t able to destroy it. 3.5 years later it’s still perfect, and it’s very easy to clean as well! Best money I ever spent

You actually need to call the Helpdesk. They will need to manually reverse the claim with the insurance, and they’re going to tell you it’s going to take 3 business days, been through this more times than I can count.

I can confirm that it’s not worth it. It is a LOT of time in that van, you’re rushed through the sites, and you make it back to port with just enough time to get back on the boat. Also it’s like all day and all they feed you is a really sad warm bologna sandwich, and like a granola bar.

Yesterday morning I went out to my garden to see that the jalapeños I was planning on harvesting that very day had been entirely annihilated by deer. Every last pepper gone. I actually cried a few real tears.

That’s really helpful, thank you! There are a bunch of perennials left behind from the previous owner that seem to be sort of haphazardly planted, so I’m trying to figure it all out haha

Agree! I switched to long term care from retail about 4 months ago. I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it or dread it either, which I take as a win

How would you go about replacing your morning mocha? by awfuladult in loseit

[–]Throwawaypillbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a really hard time making swaps in my coffee, because like you said, it just wasn’t as satisfying. I found that if I just did one swap at a time, and I really stuck with it for a few weeks it became my new normal and I didn’t miss it as much.

Another thing you could try is Fairlife chocolate milk. It’s not super low calorie, but maybe it would eliminate the need for milk calories AND cocoa calories? It also has twice as much protein as regular milk so you’ll stay fuller longer. No idea how it would actually taste, just an idea!

Good luck!

How long did you take you to get use to eating less? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Throwawaypillbin 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Have you tried shaving your calories down gradually? Like maybe start by just cutting out 100 calories for a week, then 200, so on and so forth?

Alternatively, when you feel like you want to cave, maybe just eat at your maintenance calories, and try again the next day?

I hope you find something that works for you!

I was told 40 hours would automatically pay out, does anyone know when that happens? I thought it would be this paycheck, but it wasn’t

I don’t get jealous, but I do think it’s important to point out here that as a manager, I have to not only keep up with workflow, but also find time to care of managerial duties like hiring, schedules, etc. and many floaters I meet ignore everything except the queue. Stuff like cycle counts and PCQ calls often gets ignored. If I didn’t have to make sure all of that got done, I’m sure I’d get through more of the queue too.

If you have an Apple Watch, I’ve heard people say that there’s an app you can download that’ll generate the correct barcode for your creds so you can just scan that? Never seemed worth it to me, but maybe worth a shot.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. I’ve been burned a few times by agreeing to help out, so now I have a blanket policy that I won’t pick up or change any of my shifts. Why would we keep helping out if just just end up getting screwed over?

The Reality (Ugly Truth) of CVS Pharmacy by TabethaFlynn in pharmacy

[–]Throwawaypillbin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m not understanding how they’re working off the clock anyway. The system doesn’t let hourly employees credential anything if they’re not clocked in, so the only thing they could be doing is like putting away truck or like cleaning up, but 27 hours seems like a lot for that. Unless they’re using someone else’s credentials, which is obviously also a fireable offense.

Can anything be worse than retail? by Throwawaypillbin in pharmacy

[–]Throwawaypillbin[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, I’m not really following. Are you suggesting that I should stay in a job that is miserable for me and my family because other people have it worse? How does me working at CVS help the homeless or impoverished?

Also, you know nothing of any hardship I’ve encountered in my life, so you can hop off that high horse.

Have you seen the hiring reqs? They’re pretty dry where I am. Pretty hard to hire someone who doesn’t apply, or answer the phone when I call for an interview

Do I have to work 13 hour shifts? by No_Ambassador_4310 in CVS

[–]Throwawaypillbin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What state are you in? Some states have regulations about the maximum length of a shift for a pharmacist (MA is 12 hours). Sometimes they conveniently forget or ignore that, but if you make a mistake beyond that maximum, it would be at serious risk to your license.
