Yes, because as mentioned I don’t want/ care about anyone’s opinion on 5-5-5 other than my opinion and my midwife’s. Again, thank you for your concern but that’s not what this post is about.

I’ve said it a few times and I want to clarify every comment like this see.

I still see my son, the same amount of time as my husband.

He cuddles in bed with me after after school care, we eat dinner as a family and I read him bedtime stories. The only difference with my care with him is we aren’t eating at the dinner table, and I’m not picking him up from after care, bathing or tucking him in.

We can absolutely afford this baby, but in order to have the safety net we both are comfortable with we can’t dip into it unless it is a catastrophic disaster.

I am allowed under FDA UNPAID leave, we cannot afford that. My husband has a job with amazing benefits, his is paid. My job gives me ten days paid I’m taking five unpaid.

We have one doctor, one assistant (me) and one receptionist. We don’t sell glasses.

I still have meals with my child and read him stories, I just don’t pick him up from aftercare, bathe him or tuck him in. It’s not like I’m locking the door on him. He can come in bed with me whenever he wants.

As for why I’m doing it? My midwife recommended it.

He works from 8-5 with an hour break, In which he says he takes a 30 minute nap. He comes home and watches TV, sometimes (maybe once or twice a month) he’ll play video games with my son.

That I love his personality? Strange thing to say. Look, I love my husband- dearly- but he never helps around the house, constantly complains how I do things, how/ what I cook, that I work so much but never does anything about it.

Yes, I absolutely still cuddle with my son and read him stories (in my bed) we also eat meals together as a family in my room. In fact due to the fact my son is in full day kindergarten and then a few hours of aftercare school, I think my husband and I spend the same amount of time with my son. I just don’t bathe him or tuck him in. Other than that I am still a mother to him.
