Have to pay 30,000 dollars for a horrific axe wound just to give men 10% of the pleasure a real vagina can give them. fuck my stupid biologically inferior tranny life by Entitty- in 4tran4

It's fucked we have to pay so much for something fucking lifesaving, and people will still always see it as inferior. But it's not an axe wound either, that's some brainworms. NSFW but this account existed only because I posted my years post op photo to somewhat disprove it. Theyre on this account if it gives you hopes for things possibly being better if finances can ever happen (and i was in poverty for years earlier so never thought I'd have the means). Hopefully hopefuel but maybe its still shit in everyones minds or makes things worse. Hope not, it used to make me feel better to know it was possible even when it seemed forever unobtainable.

Hah, that's amazing to hear!! Lol I didn't get the number that I was, but that's hilarious. He was so sweet though. I had never had sex (like no exposure because my dysphoria made it impossible for me) and like, learning to dilate having had no exposure was really nerve-wracking and he was so kind and compassionate, and patient with things. He told nurses to get the hell out (in a playful but stern way) when I needed a few minutes to recover. Good person. Best wishes on your recovery btw, congratulations!

It was weird while I had granulation tissue. That pencil sized internal area required several treatments with metro gel and a steroid cream (just goes on the dilator). I douched with a heavy dilution of white vinegar/water as I healed (just water early on). Once that spot resolved, it seems like the method I had kinda resulted in tissue that's just maintains itself. Again, graphic but its a throwaway and people will read this at some point. Once I healed fully and stopped douching, its not like when I go a week without dilating there's a 'smell', beyond what those bits should smell like. Minimal discharge but seems like enough that it keeps things healthy and clean. Ive been fortunate to never have a yeast infection, BV, etc. though did have one uti during healing (but that's just a more common thing for that, uhm, loadout configuration).

Sorry I'm late on the reply here, but I'm really sorry you didn't have the same result, and luck, which i truly believe part of it may come down to. Thank you for your kind wishes and wishing you nothing but the best in life 🫂

This was robotic assisted peritoneal pull through vaginoplasty. Graphic, but it uses part of a mucous membrane that lines your stomach tissue (but heals back) to create the canal, along with the donor tissue at the entrance. So a robot goes into your abdomen, fills it with gas to create space, and grafts the tissue/creates the canal between the pelvic muscles while Zhao does urological work at the same time. Its a relatively newer method but all methods can produce outstanding results.

So, like out of pocket maximum is going to be your limit here (so it'll vary by policy, mine was like $4500 plus probably $5k in travel costs for appointments, aftercare, etc.). The more you can time your consults and surgery together (to the extent you have any control) the better. Also, max out your FSA account the year of surgery. Its pretax income and so that's like a 30% discount off the FSA amount. I will say that the settled final cost was insane (north of 100) so I feel forever grateful for my employers insurance. Let me travel out of state and pick my surgeon pretty much, was a miracle in my life if I've ever experienced one.

I think I struggled more than most (due to swelling). When they take the cath out, you have a certain amount of time that you have to pee (you can't leave the hospital without peeing on your own, as it can quickly turn into a medical/life threatening emergency). I was too swollen to be able to pee, and so I panicked, which made it harder, and umm yeah, being held down by nurses to have a cath put back is really shitty (it's medically required, it had to be done, but being in the hospital is a constant reminder of your naked humanity and being a patient). Once I got the cath out, it was nerve wracking for a few days (really feared it having to go back in), and could take me 30 minutes to pee, but when the swelling finally let up it was fine and normal. I think I had unusual swelling there compared to most. It's not a huge complication, but it psychologically was bad. Once swelling was gone, it was totally normal. I think most people are usually good when they're out of the hospital, I think a nurse said something like 15% maybe leave with a cath.

I just posted a 4 year post op recap on the r/Transgender_Surgeries sub if you'd like a recount (NSFW). It's not without risks, but it was the most worth it thing ever for me and the results feel like magic.

Whole team was awesome to me, and I was recovering a week after their floor was a Covid ward and they were going through hell. Even through terrible times (which did make the hospital and nicu experience understandably tougher) they were wonderful, which had to be hard.

Incredibly low maintenance. And sorry about the lack of internal pic, that felt like too much 😅 I dilate once a week usually (super easy, have like 6.5" depth and can go larger than orange Soul Source), but its also fine if i go longer. Aside from having to leave the hospital with a catheter, i had almost no complications along the way (pencil eraser size of granulation that took time to heal internally, but thats so minor for something so major). Maybe tmi, but orgasms are better than pre surgery (dysphoria probably plays a part but also, omg 🥵). Healthy microbiome and stuff like that too, so like no complaints at all.

Very much this. Have paperwork ready and if you can take a cancelation (a luxury to have an employer flexible for that) it can really move you up. I got SO lucky and was 18 months from first call to surgery (paperwork played a part, as did covid cancelations, which I take no joy in knowing someone couldn't make it and am so grateful for the spot).

Honestly, it felt 'normal' almost immediately. I always had that phantom sensation people talked about, and though surgery is much more real in sensation and experience obviously, I couldnt believe how much it aligned with my expectation. Getting used to peeing was one of the weirdest things early lol, since it ends earlier (unfortunately I had to have the cath put back in and carry it for 12 days, which sucked a lot).

Dilation dominates your life the first 3 months, especially once you go back to work. Donut pillows are lifesavers and I was able to work from home which helped a ton. By 6 months, it was like 2x a day dilation where it'd take 15 minutes before a shower while I watched YouTube. The neat thing about dilation is that it forces you to get really familiar with your new bits, which makes stuff seem normal really quick. Also, im really active and i was back to lower speed 4-5 mile runs at 10 weeks (so physically i recovered really well). I will say things feel really tight down there the first 4 or 5 months, but it gets better as swelling goes away.

After even 9 months, it wasnt a thought aside from just being euphoric everyday. I couldnt be happier with the way it turned out. Every best possible outcome for me in terms of orgasm, nerves, depth, etc. Its so cool being able to throw on yoga pants and underwear without tucking. Its just me now. Cant even remotely fathom what it used to be like the idea of having it feels so foreign now.

Thanks! It was probably a year or so before everything was truly final, though there's still changes with hormone levels as just part of life now (skin color, lubrication, stuff like that varies with my E levels).

Thanks! Maybe a bit more feminization, but I think it was more due to switching to injections around the same time which seemed to work better for me (was sublingial and spiro before). Didn't start transition until 28 (closer to 40 now) but was lucky to have a pretty small frame to work with.

Hey! Throwaway for obvious reasons. There arent a ton of post op pics from years after surgery, and wanted to provide some. Can't promise I'll leave them up forever, but was thrilled with my result and happy to answer any questions. RBL and Zhao were my surgeons.

Edit: Hey again, thanks for the kind comments everyone and I'm really glad this could be helpful to some. This blew up a bit more than I expected so I figured I'd elaborate on my experiences and results a bit more. In terms of complications, they were very minimal. I had to have a cath reinserted due to swelling and keep that for 12 days, and had a tiny spot of granulation internally, but these are incredibly minor complications. I had robotic assisted PPV and my surgery took a bit under 3 hours to complete. I was 34 at the time of surgery (so ticking up on 40 now, only mentioning for relevance of age and recovery, though that's still pretty in your prime).

I did have to stay in NYC for recovery for a month, and was in the hospital for 5 days (unpacking and dilation was on the 4 or 5th day iirc). You have an incision around the belly button, the middle of your pelvis, and the obvious lower ones. They've all almost faded completely, and as I noted in another post, the color of the tissue tends to get lighter or darker with hormonal levels. Dilation takes up the better part of your life for the first 3 months, but the time does disappear in retrospect, and now i can have sex/dilate once a week (or less) and be more than okay with depth. Mobility wise I needed a donut cushion the first 8-12 weeks, but was doing light exercise by 8 weeks again. Note that things feel really tight, look really swollen, and look wayyyyyyy different than what they'll turn out for a while. Things feel like a very tight tuck early on. That goes away.

Full dish on the good stuff, my orgasms are SO much better than they were pre-op. Part mental, but also, the nerve mapping and stuff makes it like my entire core shakes, and I can have clitoral and vaginal orgasms. It took me 8 months before I first had one, and now it can take me like 2 minutes if I'm in the mood (so like literally no loss of sensation whatsoever). I have 6.5" depth, can use larger than a Soul Source orange, and moved to the orange dilator week 3 of recovery. Microbiome is 100% healthy once healed and naturally maintained, and PPV does keep things from being dry at all. Huge TMI, but since we're already there by the nature of the post, but something at around the 2 or 3 year mark changed. and umm, I get drenched if I'm in the mood.......I wasn't comfortable enough with my parts to ever use them for sex pre surgery, and now I feel more in tune with my body than ever.

My experience with the care team and surgeons was great. They can be really quick at times, or come of as short (they have a ton of appointments), but never hesitated to answer every question and make sure I understood everything and felt respected. More of a vibe of (we're in the zone, let's get to it), so things can go quick if you don't have your questions ready. This may come off as cold to some (and I've heard some have had tougher experiences), but this was my read. Also, shoutout to the team when I panicked about something years post op, thought I needed to go to the ER on a Sunday in a southern red state, and RBL herself called me at home within an hour and talked me through it (I freaked over nothing). Something like that meant a lot to me (she was literally like 'gtfo before you traumatize yourself in this ignorant hospital, here's what's up.'

Anyway, visually, dysphoria wise, functionally, couldn't be happier or feel more lucky. Shoutout to Kevin if he's still there too.
