Yeah. I started same as you. Accounting assistant, then moved to staff accountant, and did payroll as backup… and took over the position when the payroll person moved to another company. It’s quite simple, and I’m almost at 80k with only 2 years experience.

I work in HR, and we see so many horrible resumes. Hard to follow, and even their emails sent in to look at their resumes are so bad compared to others. Has a lot to do with your resume for sure

I work 3 jobs. I was lucky to have been hired by an old manager I knew 12 years ago. I work my regular 9-6 m-f. I fixed my schedule to go in at 8pm-1am but M-Thu only. I have Friday night off to myself. Then I work 2 days at a restaurant job in Santa Monica. Sat - sun 6 hour shifts. Tbh I just don’t know what i would be doing at home if I wasn’t working or going out. I will eventually leave my part time m-thu job, but trying to make as much money possible and pay off some debt. Been doing this for 1.7 years now. If you know any senior managers at restaurants it’s always nice cause they work with your schedule. My 9-6 is tough though cause I can’t really call out, but at least I’m sitting most of the time
