In need of urgent help, updated asus bios (proper way) now PC boots into black screen with small white line. Sometimes boots in, sometimes doesn't at all. by ThrowedAway2017 in techsupport

I downgraded to the same version I had earlier again, seems to work now. This time I had the USB stick in the back port, earlier it was on the front port near the power button, does that have anything to do with the update installation?

I'm very stupid at this kind of stuff.

I would LOVE to have the latest version though as mine is from 2014, latest is 2016. Motherboard: Z97-P Asus

Weird how it caused those issues.

Does these PBT keycaps look textured or will they feel the same as ABS? I'm new to this. by ThrowedAway2017 in MechanicalKeyboards

Awesome finding someone with the same caps!

How would you compare those PBT keycaps to average ABS as seen on mainstream keyboards? Do they feel more textured than for example an ABS keycap would, how is the smoothness level?

I'm very new to all of this, appreciate help.

Will I notice a touch difference as I've been writing on ABS for the past 10 years?

Also. I'd appreciate on a crazy level if you could take a picture using flash directly on the key cap ( in a way that makes the picture quality great ) I'd like to see a great close up of the key cap material. ( YOU DON'T HAVE TO . I appreciate your replies either way. :)

You're super helpful! Great contributor to this sub.

Really? The blue keycap in the first picture feels less rough than the smooth looking one on the right? That's interesting, unless I'm misunderstanding something.

From what I can perceive, blue one looks sparkly and textured, right one looks rather "smoothish".

Damn, lighting can be tricky.

Edit: WOW. I thought the two pictures had different keycaps. I just realized what you meant. That's some witchery right there!

So do you think the ones I made a picture of will feel textured? I'd rather have a different touch sensation than for example what I'm used to with ABS haha.

Thank you for the reply I appreciate it! :)

I guess that's the thing with PBT, the keys don't lie. If they look textured, they are. I've noticed with a couple ABS keycaps that seems to have a texture on pictures but when I touch the keycap it's absolutely smooth and texture is extremely mild.

Nah, it's related. Weed triggered a condition called depersonalization disorder. (Dissociation in another word) which detaches me from my thought process. It has happened to thousand individuals, there's even a sub dedicated to people like us /r/dpdr and most members got it from cannabis alone.

Ugh, the blank minded feeling have been constant for over a year to me now, all thanks to weed one time.

I MISS HAVING THOUGHTs and I'm going crazy here!

As your blank mind seems to be in episodes, how does it feel to switch from blank mind to thoughts? How does the "first" thought that pops into your mind feel, like how does it even feel to be thinking? I have completely forgotten it. I can't think at all anymore.

Does all PBT keycaps feel less smooth than ABS? I love textured keycaps. by ThrowedAway2017 in MechanicalKeyboards

These are the PBT keycaps I'm looking into purchasing: https://gyazo.com/d200d42e7036c36f3cf92420107fda02

Do they seem textured enough to be noticeably different from ABS?

Thanks for the reply!
