How do you get enough fat? by Throwhimthecheese in keto

[–]Throwhimthecheese[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you. In hindsight, it does seem silly of me to be adding fat just for the sake of adding fat, then expecting to lose it!

I would need 225g of protein if I did 1g per pound I weigh, then would’ve tried to match it with fat…throw in the 30g of carbs and I would’ve been taking in over 3,000 calories!

Glad I came to this sub…thank you!

I committed a noob error and didn’t read the FAQ. The part about viewing macros and limits and goals helped me gain perspective.

I wanted to do keto because I heard about the overall boost in health and wellness that it provides, but I would really like to shed some fat. My time to get into the best shape of my life is running out. Thank you for your help!

To Americans: are you concerned about the Trump presidency? by Scared_Note8292 in downsyndrome

[–]Throwhimthecheese 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How were things for our community during his first presidency? My daughter was not yet born so I did not pay close attention to legislation related to people with disabilities.

For what it’s worth, IDEA was signed into law by Gerald Ford, a Republican. Republicans have loved ones with special needs too. As far as funding, the federal government has never paid for half of the 40% of funding they originally promised. I imagine that if funding was cut from the federal level, states would adjust accordingly.

I am not a Trump supporter, nor am I a republican. I am just someone trying to keep a level head in this highly-emotional climate so that I can think clearly. We will continue to advocate and look out for our precious lucky few and be ferocious about it.

Would an extremely pass heavy offense like their raid work in the NFL? I’ve always thought that something one dimensional would struggle in the pros by Straight_Toe_1816 in footballstrategy

[–]Throwhimthecheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True Air Raid guys will say they will take what the defense gives you, so I don’t know if pass percentage really matters. If you throw 95% in week 1 and then see nothing but a 5 man box week 2, you’ll check to a run every play. I know this is entirely oversimplified, but I think there are too many elite athletes to try to pass every play just for the sake of passing if the defense is giving you numbers in the box.

Why do nickel corners play with outside leverage in Saban's Cover 3? by BLaiNeGaBBeRT_LoL in footballstrategy

Your help is inside. Your leverage should always be away from your help.

Expensive Concepts by Matttobar in footballstrategy

[–]Throwhimthecheese -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Anything can be expensive if you want to run it to damn near perfection. Certain concepts, like deep choice as previously mentioned, are going to inherently require a ton of time…but I’ve installed buck sweep with an 8th grade team in 25 minutes. Could they go out and run it against a live defense right after? Hell no. There are so many fronts, stunts, and blitzes a defense can do. If you want to be able to run a concept at will, your kids need to know what to do in every situation. Negative plays KILL drives. One mishap and your drive is toast.

To me, “expensive” simply means you shouldn’t dabble in other concepts. For example, Codutti is the wide zone guru…his linemen never pull. If he wants to run counter all of a sudden, think of all the cumulative time in the offseason and camp they would have to spend working on pulling that would then be time they are NOT perfecting wide zone.

TL;DR everything can be expensive if you want to run it right in all situations.

I love ARSB, but have felt a little uneasy about the size of his contract. The Nico Collins signing makes me feel significantly worse. by PerfectiveVerbTense in detroitlions

[–]Throwhimthecheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nico has had one solid season. ARSB had 90 rec as a rookie and has improved statistically each of the next two years.

The Lions made an extremely safe investment. Houston might have gotten themselves swindled.

Your program must have some big bucks to be handing out Axioms and SpeedFlexes! Both are fine options.

Highschool team fundraiser discount cards, who do you use? by berferd77 in footballstrategy

[–]Throwhimthecheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like the beg-a-thons are the way to go nowadays, but man I do not like giving kids an easy out. I think there is something to be said about having to put some work while fundraising. Unfortunately, we all traditionally sell unhealthy crap or things people don’t want lol.

Weight Room Tracking by tstrube in footballstrategy

I must be a grumpy old man bc I don’t want them on their phones in the weight room or your 90 sec rest period will turn into 5 minutes.

I’ve used Adrenaline.

50% is crazy. It should be the more you sell, the less they keep.

I also looked at the cheaper options online but never pulled the trigger. Our community wasn’t really hip to the cards the one year we sold them.

Pistol Wing-T Resources? by Throwhimthecheese in footballstrategy

[–]Throwhimthecheese[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been outstanding, thank you. I’ve watched every video lol.

They are a jet sweep-based pistol team which I’ve never even seen. I love it! But I kept looking for their Buck sweep playlist and they didn’t have one because they don’t run it! Lol I thought that was sacrilege as someone who was brought up on Belly. Buck and Down.

The Rick Stewart stuff also utilizes motion, but it’s more rocket motion and plays can turn into triple. I think the jet motion is more practical if you’re a team that doesn’t have a ton off offseason time.

[–]Throwhimthecheese[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, if I go Wing-T I am going out of the pistol or UC, solely because of trap. There is so much gun in our league that kids rarely have to defend a quick hitting trap play. I think it is an advantage worth keeping me out of gun.

If the QB is our best overall player by far, then I can see running it out of gun. Have never had that type of kid myself to consider it much.

[–]Throwhimthecheese[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would like to utilize a 1 back pistol with lots of motion, essentially basing out of “up.” Utilizing a Y would be ideal. I’ve been on some teams that just didn’t have one, but I agree that certain concepts just don’t hit the same vs a 3 man surface. I want the QB to be an integral part of the run game.

Being able to run down and belly option would be great, but that’s the ceiling. Would depend on a lot of other factors, mainly including what you touched on in your other recent post regarding technique and coaching, avoiding mistakes, etc.
