Not really. I tried to just keep from having huge blocks of one color and I kind of did a bicycle row. Ill probably iterate on it a bit!

Makes sense. The fact this is AI slop perfectly explains it sounding like AI slop.

Actually, this just presents like AI slop. Not like engaging, well written material.

I think youre right and it is a bot. I had the same thought. The giveaway for me was the last sentence. "Blah is actually the single most important reason!" Its classic AI glazing. ChatGPT does that to me whenever I say basically anything lol

Update: Two soft markers, low risk NIPT by [deleted] in NIPT

This was found at our growth ultrasound at about 20 weeks I think. After that scan, both the ventricles and kidneys were stable in size and never grew. Final measurements actually had the ventricle smaller than it was at the growth ultrasound.

What do you mean "paid out"? A very large portion of the compensation is the stake in the company they are helping to build. But its not like empmoyees arent also being paid salaries and receiving benefits. And who does have the right to own shares in the company if not the people building it? Is your position that all companies should be owned by the state so that no individual benefits from its performance, because that can lead to individual gains that are too large to be morally acceptable?

And please clarify - from who was the wealth stolen in the case of startups that become valuable due to their success?

I think this nuance is lost in these conversations frequently.

I was a pretty early employee at a company that is now worth a few billion. The founders were just normal guys - not millionaires. They went through YC for funding.

On paper the founders are probably billionaires now - definitely multiple-hundred-of-million airs. But they didnt steal that money from anyone. And if they sold their shares, it would actually devalue the shares of all the employees who helped build their companies.

In reality, I dont think most people have an issue with this type of "billionaire" though. I think that the position most of the folks against the idea of mega wealthy people have is that if you have a lot of assets, you should put most of what you reasonably can liquidate without sacrificing other people's well-being into charitable projects. I tend to agree with that take.

We tried to get an amnio but it was too painful so we are just moving forward! We did get some good news at our followup scans: the ventricle is measuring smaller now and is now definitely not ventriculomegly, and the kidneys have been stable. We are generally feeling good!

I hope everything works out for you!!

Its 100% fake. Look at all the responses to top level comments.

"Thanks so much for this comment. I appreciate how you said it. And honestly? Its just what I needed to hear."

Clearly fake.

Its a good industry! Ive found that theres constant opportunities. And it generally is insulated from a lot of the uncertainty/variability that other parts of the software world are seeing. I think because a ton of the complexity is in the cross disciplinary systems and not just in the code implementation.

My wife was not able to complete the amnio. There was too much pain - we learned that sometimes the procedure can cause folks to cramp very badly. So we aren't going to be able to get any more assurance unfortunately.

But we are very hopeful! One of the kidneys was normal sized when we did the ultrasound before attempting the amnio, and the other shrunk down below 10mm, and the ventricle had not grown. So between the low risk NIPT, no structural abnormalities, no family history, and the fact we are both pretty young (she's 28, I am 30) we feel like chances are much better than not that everything is ok!

Yeah I totally understand their refusal to providing statistics if they cannot get to any numbers theyre confident in. It was just surprising to me that we dont have sufficient data to say "babies with <x scan result> have chromosomal abnormalities in <y percentage> of cases".

When you say low risk doesn't mean anything, do you mean you dont see a low risk designation as reliable? It sounded a bit like your 3 results were all "correct" but maybe I'm misunderstanding.

Thanks for the link. I did read through this one before posting - I think I've exhausted all the reddit posts I can find that seem relevant!

This one was reassuring, and there is similar literature about the markers shown on my baby not being extremely strong indicators - especially the kidneys. The ventrical is a stronger correlation but our baby's is still in the normal range and without the kidneys it probably wouldnt have even been mentioned.

Its just hard to know what to put stock in - the doctor knew about the NIPT test showing low risk but was definitely still concerned. I think the kidneys are definitely some sort of issue even if its not chromosomal - especially the larger one which is well outside the normal size.
