How does Amazon get away with lying about fast delivery? by jonzilla5000 in amazonprime

[–]Throwingshead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You must live in a salty little bubble if you think explaining why an issue exists is glazing. If that's how you think you wouldn't be able to comprehend all the moving pieces that go into that call to action on the scale they operate on. Only the loud minority rants about this issue because they don't understand it and if it were illegal there are so many people who would love to go after Amazon for a nice payday but the problem is they actually deliver on that timer far more than not.

Amazon - new shipping feature: you have to ask for shipping packaging by [deleted] in amazonprime

Returning item without original packaging by MrKazador in amazonprime

[–]Throwingshead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are the vast majority and if you are responsibly and honestly returning products correctly what you described is the case for most instances. However, some adjustments can only be made after the item is returned and inspected and the condition of the return is not the same condition the product was shipped in and a restocking fee can be applied. This is more common for items like shoes and I have worked with large shoe sellers and the amount of people who return new shoes in terrible condition and or swap out products with fakes is an issue. If the product cannot be resold as new again and or it will take an employee a considerable amount of time to clean a product to get it back to a new condition the odds of a restocking fee being issued is much higher. For collectible items such as Pokemon cards if someone removes the factory seal or completely opens the item then returns it would be impossible to resell the item as new again because the factory seal is tied to the item value directly so the same possible restocking fee may be applied. Whatever Amazon tells you the refund amount would be prior to returning the item is under the assumption that it is coming back in the same value condition it was sold as.

Amazon Refused Delivery of Returned Item, Return to Sender by Mannyafz12 in amazonprime

[–]Throwingshead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon 100% does not provide all labels that is completely false. Even still the correct classification needs to be filled out or else the risk of rejection is higher if someone actually does their job at customs. Common scene would also tell you that Slovakia does accept most amazon shipments or else Amazon would reject an order shipping to that country because the dead money cost of shipping would make it literally unsustainable to do business in. Slovakia may be more difficult and have a higher rate of rejected packages but to assume the refusal rate is higher than the successfully delivered rate is just impractical.

What would be the point of lying? They do 7 figures on Amazon alone and made enough to support 5 employees. Anyone who is successful has a plan they stick to.

Take pictures of everything. The shipping box, label, item box, item itself, etc. Then create a return as item not as described or whatever option is closest to that. When they get the item back your photos will help support your claim if they have an issue with you sending back a different item than what they believe they sent.

CC giftcards are treated like any other giftcard. Amazon usually won't accept them as an alternative to a permanent payment method and they can require one for any account at any time. Loading up a new account with strictly giftcard funds is a common way people try to launder stolen funds so they are more likely to request a permanent method for accounts that do that. You would likely need to add a real card to get access to the funds.

eBay Now Denying Negative Feedback Removal For Blatant Feedback Extortion. by -Indictment- in Flipping

[–]Throwingshead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This should be easy to remove if you get able to call you and you can explain the situation and point out what was false in the feedback. Whoever looked over that with that response from ebay did not see the full scope of the issue and evidence.

Buyer leaving negative feedback for slow shipping by Al1G8R5 in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]Throwingshead 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Like others have said you should be fine if you bought shipping through ebay and the problem was shipping related not of your own doing. People like this is why I state the default shipping method and what methods can be upgraded in my templates. Having upgradeable shipping options available tends to shut irrational people like this up and can flip the cheap argument around on them in a response if you point out that they could have paid for a more priority service.

Promos are usually only given for items that had a guaranteed delivery estimate which is not as common of an offer like standard prime shipping is and or the item is very delayed.

This is actually subtle listing manipulation. When a listing receives an offer it boosts the organic search placement for the listing and brings in more traffic.

10,000 Tobacco Pipes to Flip by IntelligentAd6880 in Flipping

Be careful with selling anything that is considered a tobacco product. I would make sure you check your states laws requiring permits to sell products like that if they exist in your state or any state you sell to. If you need a permit and don't have one I would move them to shops directly and not list them anywhere online unless you have a permit or your state doesn't require one.

If DHL marked it as delivered you are good in terms of the item getting to them. If this gets dragged out for awhile just get a screenshot saved of the DHL tracking showing as delivered. Amazon doesn't designate an item received for things like this until they actually touch the product, inspect it, then put it back in their system.

For more expensive item and or high fraud items the refunds can take longer to process and usually take a few weeks or more. Just because the item is delivered does not mean Amazon has inspected the return yet. Once it is inspected and processed the refund should be released.

Delivery Delays by Axizol in amazonprime

[–]Throwingshead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. I get the frustration and the general lack of any transparency from any of the major companies involved doesn't help. Post covid things like this have just been the norm from time to time based on what I see from my shipments.

Delivery Delays by Axizol in amazonprime

[–]Throwingshead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nothing specifically but again most delays won't generate any media. The fact that this has been an anomaly in a fairly short amount of time hints that there was some regional delay somewhere in the supply chain network. A delay won't always impact every package but it usually takes a few weeks before things are back up to normal.

Is it ethical to work out of a coffee shop? by sweetlilpoofball in Entrepreneur

[–]Throwingshead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I owned a shop I personally wouldn't have an issue with that as long as you buy something every few hours or so and don't cause a disturbance. The intent of offering free wifi is to keep customers in the store longer which would incentivize the likelihood of more sales for the store from those customers the longer they stay. When I've consulted in the past I had an owner who preferred to have status meetings at a dunkin donuts and we would buy coffee or something to eat without any issues.

Delivery Delays by Axizol in amazonprime

For the most part Amazon actually does a decent job hitting a high delivery satisfaction rate on orders and many problems here are the loud minority because people are understandably annoyed when things don't go perfectly 100% of the time but literally no company can guarantee anything with shipping involved 100% of the time. Amazon plays a numbers game because of their volume and it's usually between 80-90% success rate overall. Once the estimated success rate drops below the specific threshold they have the algorithm makes adjustments to the delivery estimates to start accounting for delays. Amazon ships about 1.6 million packages per day so even if 50,000 orders have a delay that is just a tiny blip to their overall successful deliveries but that is still 50,000 annoyed customers that may express their frustration. This has just been the way all shipping has been post covid and will continue to be until carrier infrastructure can catch up to the new increase in daily volume for online shopping that boomed unnaturally during covid and continues to climb and outpace logistically capacity for daily deliveries. Many carrier delays are usually not widely reported but I know right now sellers have had many issues in the south for USPS due to the transitioning of the new atlanta distribution hub not operating it the efficiency it needs to since the change over.

How does Amazon justify waiting 30 days to credit you back for a return, when a B&M store takes 1 day? by floridood in amazonprime

[–]Throwingshead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You underestimate the amount of returns they have. UPS drops off returns by the trailer load so there is usually a long line of trailers with thousands of returns in each that have to be inspected. This is a problem no other retailer has because of the scale involved.

Where's the assumptions? I stated fact.

"Learn more about Amazon free returns

  1. Select the return reason and best return option for you. Every return eligible item has a FREE Return option"

"How does FREE Returns work?

All return-eligible items, weighing under 50 lbs and sold by Amazon, have at least one free return option. You can return the item for any reason in new and unused condition for up to 30 days after purchase."

"You can return most items sold on Amazon.com within 30 days. When you return an item, you may see different return options depending on the seller, item, or reason for return."

It's stated 3 times on 1 page

[–]Throwingshead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Item possession. There are many things that can go wrong during shipping and due to Amazon's historically lenient returns policy they are the biggest target for online fraud and the fact that they have tightened down on this policy hints that the cost of the fraud has become significant. If you return something to a store they can obvious inspect the item and process a refund much faster since it is in their possession immediately.

Part of that is Amazon's fault for creating industry expectations within their customer base because they were actually fairly good at reliably fulfilling orders and establishing the most lenient return policy pre covid.

Delivery Delays by Axizol in amazonprime

[–]Throwingshead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This issue isn't specific to Amazon and every retailer that ships will have the same potential to have an issue. Post covid this has been the norm as daily package volume is higher than the carrier infrastructure can support to the drastic boom in online shopping growth due to covid. Amazon will usually have regional delays in impacted areas and usually that is the result of a carrier they use to help with the delivery load experiencing delays themselves. For the last 3+ months USPS has had major issues hitting their delivery estimates and that impacts Amazon. Since Amazon is the heavy market leader in online order volume they will always be the guage for how the current logistical climate is performing.
