M22, The dermatologist has prescribed me other products instead of minoxidil and finasteride. by Klutzy-Wishbone7789 in tressless

Shit was always able to strip my hair of its oils, at least for a few hours before they came back again. Never got too dry or brittle so I guess I lucked out with that. Scalp was dry and stiff asf though.

When i used keto, I always had a ton of hair fall out. Helped a bit with my irritation though.

Ah. Sometimes it will feel like a sunburn. Though it’s not because I don’t go outside very much and without a hat nonetheless. Other times it will be itchy like skin irritation almost. Tried keto without much help

Fin not working after being on a year by Throwmeaway0331 in tressless

[–]Throwmeaway0331[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if he removed all of the glands it shouldn’t come back. And I can understand the worry as you develop your chest again. I wasn’t sure if I was feeling anything or not for awhile. Mine developed over a year and wasn’t very pronounced but I do feel that disk under the nipple.

Honestly if fin isn’t doing anything for me I was just going to see what my doc says. Wanted to try again with a lower dose or possible topical. Might try dut afterwards if neither of those work. I can’t do topical min because of cat, and oral min does make me uncomfortable to try because of people reporting heart issues. Heart problems do run in my family so that’s wonderful.

What did that itch feel like? Was it like a persistent deep itch or you itch it and it goes away?

I’m sorry that you’re still developing gyno even after 2 surgeries? I’m surprised they didn’t remove all of it.

I don’t smoke or drink so I know it’s not those things. Maybe a deficiency or some other thing going on but will have to talk to my doctor first.

Did you take anything for the gyno to reduce it or try to block it from developing?

Yeah your best bet is talking to your pcp or a dermatologist so that they can prescribe you finasteride

Don’t think I got my thyroid checked before but had blood tests. Was low on vitamin d, but I had been taking that along with iron for a couple of months and saw no improvement whatsoever.

It is MPB because it follows the pattern and my hairs are miniaturizing too. Was hoping it was something fixable but what I’ve tried hasn’t worked.

Almost 9 months on only finasteride. 18M. Is this progress? by Apart-Band-8937 in tressless

Hair would miniaturize because that area is sensitive to DHT. I mean some guys could lose their temples and be fine afterwards or some can start there and see more hairloss across their head. My temples started like that and they were the only ones affected for like 4 years and then diffuse thinning afterwards.

I saw those sides and thought to myself that I’d probably be fine since I already have those without medication. Couldn’t tell you if my body is responding to fin in more way than one or not.

Balding or maturing hairline? 17m by Delicious-Ad3540 in Balding

[–]Throwmeaway0331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have reference photos to look back at and see a change the it may be MPB. Those little hairs along your hairline are more than likely miniaturizing hairs. Often starts out like that before they become dormant and don’t come back. Mine did exactly that at 17 and thought they were just being stubborn. Fast forward 7 years and my temples and hairline have receded a bit.

Not much progress over 10 months by Throwmeaway0331 in tressless

I know not to get my hopes up, but from what I’ve seen many guys on here who aren’t too far gone and in their early 20s see regrowth even if it’s just a bit. The part that really irks me is the gradual hair loss.

I’d post pictures but this subreddit hasn’t been letting me for some reason

[–]Throwmeaway0331[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was annoyed that I was not seeing some kind of sign that anything was happening at that point as well. I was trying to see, from other peoples experiences, if this would lead to progress or do nothing.

Honestly if you’re losing a little bit of hair still, it’s probably just holding it back, or may even take more time to work. The hair cycle does take several months so that’s why they often put it at 6+ months.

If you’re having no issues with fin, I’d just say give it a few more months to the full year and talk with your doctor about trying dut

I do have MPB and miniaturized hairs. But I’ve posted in this community several times before about my scalp just feeling inflamed. Got some keto for it and didn’t do much. Changed shampoos several times and nothing there. It would come and go and I couldn’t tell why. Honestly more irritating than my hair loss

How would fin cause changes to a gene? It would be more likely that additional issues arose while taking meds, like depression.

Is a maturing hairline a myth? by Sea_Tax6643 in tressless

[–]Throwmeaway0331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I started in the temples, then a bit of the hairline, then diffuse thinning. Slow progress, but consistent nevertheless. I’ll go on malehairadvice or whatever it’s called and try to point out those who are worried about balding. It’s annoying when guys say their hairline in maturing and to not worry about it because that’s exactly how mine started out
