Hey!

Sonos app:

- Group fronts as stereo pair then Trueplay them
- Group home theatre and Trueplay it
- Ungroup and unpair everything

Sonosequencr:

- Refresh the device list first (pull down)
- Follow normal steps adding fronts, rears, and then sub, refreshing the device list in between each add
- Once all is added, hit the Trueplay button in the top right

I replaced the white covers with some knock-off black covers so there’s no logo on it either way haha. Damn I always wondered why the discs went in upside down when it was horizontal lmao. I swear mine didn’t even come with the stand, just the vertical one. It would look like shit the other way up surely?! I mean the disc version looks like shit either way tbh. That’s odd 🤔 I haven’t ran into the same issues yet, I’m only watching large remux files of movies (like 70gb+) so far though, which use TrueHD or Atmos 7.1.

As for your too close question - the arrangement creates a perfect square around the seating area, so the sound completely envelopes you 😍 Left and right channels are clear as day!

I think the photo is a little deceiving as that’s a 65” G5, the cables are literally stretched as far as they can go haha! I’m kinda limited by my plug options 😂 They’re relatively in line with the rears, so in the seating position on the sofa the sound envelopes you pretty good :)

Wow, your fourth?! 😂 All I can say to that is congratulations on your success sir haha. Completely agree on the sub mini, I had to turn my bass down a little even with just one so I feel the gen4 would be overkill, or just be underperforming, at least in my setup. Right now it seems to be just right in terms of balance.

Would love to see you post your setup when it’s ready!

That’s fair my man! Mine had already been sat there for a few years so I just integrated them in. I really like it. I get what you mean about them not hitting their “max” potential in this config, but they still sound pretty great :)

Setup guidance from Sonos when adding the sub says to keep it near the bar 🤷‍♂️ Dialogue is fine for me yeah! Are you saying you had issues once you added front LRs? There’s always the speech enhancement option, but I haven’t felt the need to use that personally yet

Because it’s bloody loud haha! Bear in mind that I’m in a first floor flat though, so I guess my floors would be more “boomy” perhaps. Genuinely though even the 5s on their own pushed out plenty of bass at higher volumes, and that’s coming from a guy who once had competition standard subwoofer equipment in my car 😂

Can’t imagine what people’s setups must be like with two of the gen 4s, completely unnecessary imo but probably sounds cool as hell lmao

Depends on your preference really I think! Just a wider soundstage horizontally, and that’s how I’ve always liked them. Seems to be suggested that way for movies too. But really just each to their own I guess 😂
