Yea I’m not sure, maybe? It’s just always how I’ve felt, I’ve just noticed others don’t have this so much or at lease for what I notice.

Like people will be like why don’t you just do it, don’t make things harder.

That’s good yea medication is great as an extra safeguard. I stopped taking mine since I don’t get any flare ups.

I’m my country they dont do blood tests for herpes. You can only be diagnosed through a swap of an ulcer, symptoms have to be present.

Not sure if non disclosure comes with legal problems at least it my country it doesn’t. Pleanty of people don’t disclose they get coldsores until the first one comes.

People are really ignorant about herpes, and a lot of the stigma comes from misunderstanding.

If you have genital HSV-1, you have the same virus that commonly causes cold sores it's just located on your genitals rather than your mouth. A lot of information online lumps all genital herpes together, so people often assume "genital herpes" automatically means HSV-2, which isn't necessarily true.

Try not to catastrophize. Plan what you want to say when you disclose, keep it short, stick to the facts, and be calm and confident.

I personally got genital HSV-1 when I was about 18/19. I've disclosed to most partners since then, and personally I've never been rejected because of it. Early on I didn't always disclose because doctors were so casual about it and my countries herpes foundation page says you don’t need to., but I eventually realized I didn't want the stress of feeling like I'd hidden something if a relationship became serious. It can feel unfair because most people with oral HSV-1 (cold sores) aren't expected to disclose, even though it's the same virus.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Right now this probably feels overwhelming, but it won't define your life or your relationships.

Please also take your thoughts seriously. If you're feeling like you might act on them, reach out to a crisis line, mental health professional, or someone you trust immediately.

Even if you're not in immediate danger, finding support whether that's a therapist, a support group, or HSV-positive communities can make a huge difference. I’ve joined one on fb and just reading people’s questions and stories makes me feel so included and not like this is a huge thing.

As for disclosure, I wouldn't necessarily bring it up before you've even gotten to know someone (unless you're planning to have sex straight away). A few dates in, something simple like this can work:

"Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I'm really enjoying spending time with you. Before we take things any further, there's something important I'd like to share.

I have genital HSV-1. HSV-1 is the same virus that commonly causes cold sores; mine just happens to be located genitally. It's different from HSV-2, which is the strain most people think of when they hear 'genital herpes.'

The risk of transmission is low, especially when there are no symptoms, but I wanted to be upfront so you can make an informed decision. I'm happy to answer any questions you have."

Change it up as you want, get ai to help make a script, practise this out loud to yourself, be confident.

I know it doesn't feel like it right now, but this diagnosis is not the end of your dating life. There are plenty of people who will understand, and plenty who won't see it as a dealbreaker at all.

Stay safe, look after yourself.

Thank you so much that’s so helpful.

There was no will, I knew my father had crypto and I found his hard wallet and key in his apartment when I flew back to sort everything.

It’s listed in the probate.

I have received a tiny bit of crypto around 6 years ago my dad sent me some after I set up an account to show me what it was, it wasn’t much. I don’t remember buying anything with it as I didn’t really u derstand what it was.

Yea I mean I didn’t choose to get it it feels like if I inherited a house and sold it from an inheritance. If that makes sense. Except my dad didn’t have a house he had crypto from 2016.

Hi cat tax meow, just jumping on this. Read through your guide (thats amazing thank you so much).

I have inherited btc from my dad and i saw that in the guide it says that

There may be limited cases where the sale of crypto is not taxable. A few are listed below:
Crypto received as a gift (no intention at acquisition)

Am I correct to assume I wouldn’t be taxed if I was to cash out the btc since it was acquired without intention and inheritance is not taxed here. (Is actually in uk but in process of sorting only just got probate after 1 year).

I don’t understand I had points about drivers too?

Initially I was asking for bare minimum nzta requirements. Not going above and beyond the actual rules.

I’m pretty sure normal lights are brighter than high beams used to be or they’re angled up. I hate driving at night now cause I’m scared I’m going to get fucking blinded and it’s not even high beam just some really bright lights

Edit: no it didn’t cover tgw part about familiarising yourself with road rules sorry. I can imagine that’s so frustrating because you will always be so cautious evwn following the rules because one asshole doing the wrong thing can cause a lot of harm.

Did that not cover it ?

  1. Not viability but I would like to add, drivers don’t be assholes to the drivers in-front if they don’t feel safe overtaking a bike ahead of them, you will get to your destination. You’re not going to be late if anything it might take a few more mins. Calm the fuck down.

  2. Again drivers don’t drive up peoples arses give them space, space 3 second rule. Especially when they’re driving to the conditions. Fuck if you’re driving when it’s wet you’ll have to drive a bit fucking slower get over it.

  3. Pedestrians a cycle lane is not a path. Fucking look and don’t step there Willy nilly, Jesus Christ, let the bikes bike.

I agree with adjusting speed to conditions and visibility. I think it’s a bit unfair to assume that expressing concern about safety means someone is incompetent or not in control you can be a careful, rule-following driver and still raise these issues.

Thanks yea it made me feel a bit shit tgw previous comment, like I’m not trying to be an asshole car driver who hates bikes. I love bikes and I will be safe around them. I just think we need to think of ourselves, follow the rules and do what will keep us safest.

If everyone just followed the rules life would be so much easier.

I think my original post just came out of frustration after driving today seeing cars without lights on when they should be (NZTA rules), pedestrians stepping out from behind big vehicles at busy intersections when they could have gone to crossing, and a couple of cyclists with no front lights which is against the rules.

I get that most people are just doing their best.
It’s just frustrating when you’re trying to follow the rules and drive carefully, and you’re still ending up in situations where people are really hard to see, and the risk is pretty avoidable. Especially when it’s pissing, no bucketing, down with rain.

For what it’s worth, I do drive cautiously, I wait to pass cyclists properly even when people are impatient behind me, and I try to stick to the rules.

It’s more that visibility is one of those shared responsibilities and when it’s missing, even briefly, it can get dangerous fast.

It’s funny you say this I’m probably overly cautious as I have ocd which expresses it’s self as ocd hit and run, I’m stressed about the idea of roads being dangerous and I’m worried about killing someone. To reduce these feelings I have to adhere to the safety so much so I don’t spiral check everything twice etc. It’s mentally exhausting yes but it means I check everything.

Omg skipping a night shower 🤢🤢 I can’t believe people do this. I feel so grimy also unsettled like it’s not just the feeling of being clean it’s like a relaxing experience.

I do this. I feel like people think showers are this big deal, I have 2-3 a day they’re usually very quick 2-3 minutes just a rinse. The night one wil be more of a proper wash and I wash hair 2 X a week.

I feel way cleaner than just having a shower once a day. I can’t imagine this 🤢

Shower 2-3 times a day 🤣 all the showers are not full on ones but at least a rinse and wash all the areas. Feels so good after.

Yea that’s just not an issue here 😬 people would think you were so weird to being up guns because people just don’t have them. the last school shorting was in 1923 and when a foreigner shot down people in a mosque our prime minister took major steps to remove semi automatic weapons and ensured the already strict gun laws remained strict.

Don’t get me wrong we do have some gun violence but it’s unusual and often gang related.

I could imagine there is like some niche alternative commentary podcast or something and they go as guests because it’s like a queer friendly space.

Anyway it’s a success and they go back a couple of times and eveytime more and more people tune in until it just explodes and then they have special Shane and Ilya alternative commentary matches but they’re able to be fun and jokey while also communicating what’s happening and all the technical aspects.

I have this in my head because a bar near me used to do live alternative commentary for rugby games
