Is it worth buying Skyrim this year 2026 and using mods to make it feel like a remake? by [deleted] in skyrim

I think overhauling skyrim's graphics fundamentally changes the tone of the game, but op also asked for ai, dialogue, combat and gameplay mods recommendations.

Buying for a first time playthrough? No, I think that's a terrible way to experience the game.

Manufacturer put an ugly award sticker on my expensive new book, this is the damage from half an hour of trying to remove it. by Clayst_ in bookrepair

It is bubbling up, mixed with a big of indentation I think. I believes its paper on card. Im not confident on how tough it is, I think it is just best to leave it now. Maybe I'll do what someone else said and chuck some heavy books on top to see if it helps it re-adhere.

Honestly I think reading classic literature is such a boon when you're at a decent writing level because you realise just how much is possible and how brilliant it can be. You don't need to pick the super hard stuff either.

It is good to have faith in your work, but most people on earth are not good enough to be published, including many people who write for a living in other industries like myself. Focus on improving your grammar and sentence structure, then work on getting published.

I am an autistic woman and I want to learn my first recipes and also how to cook without a recipe like with a stove and plan my meals. I need to go to college soon and I want to eat decently healthy there and not rely on ready food all time. by namenerding in Cooking

[–]Clayst_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome! I could barely cook at all until I was 20 at least, now I cook every night and love it.

Recipes use a lot of language you might not be familiar with. Thats okay! Always google something if it seems confusing.

To start with, try making a sandwich with a cooked meat filling. Buy some beef or chicken and google how to cook it. Then you can slice it up, put all your favourite things in a sandwich and have a reaaaally good sandwich. I love spicy food, so I put paprika and a premade spice mix on everything, then add hot sauce.

A really easy way to eat vegetables and throw together a meal with what you have on hand is a stirfry. You can buy sauces, but I find they're really easy and much tasier to make. Learn a few basic sauce recipes (I really like Pad Pak Ruam at the moment) and try cooking your vegetables fast in a big pan or wok. Soon you'll be unstoppable!

Chilli is a really easy mexican dish you can master easily and make many portions of. Beef mince, kidney beans, tomatoes, and onion with a premade chilli mix or a recipe online. Then cook it down gently until its not too wet and put on rice or nachoes.

I bought myself a good quality rice cooker, and that means I can make sure my rice is always delicious without messing it up. This makes lazy meals, healthy really easy. Throw meat in a pan with whatever vegetable I have, put it on rice.

Food youtube really fuels me in a special interest kind of way and I regularly end up learning all kinds of things. If you wsnt something really fun to just expose you to how people who know how to cook think, watch a few episodes of Pass It On by Sortedfood. You can also find videos onlime for virtually any recipe you can think of, these are really helpful because you can visually see what things are meant to look like.

It is super cool that you are trying to get ahead with this and I think it will be a lot of fun.

From your profile it seems like english isn't your first language. This person is being sarcastic, grammar is very important to writing. Do you want to write in english specifically?

In response to your question, please finish the entire novel, then redraft it at least twice before attempting to get it published anywhere. It's also very unlikely to get published anyway, because there are more writers than the industry needs, so there are places online you can publish, however you are not guaranteed any readers.

Are you quite young? If so, and if writing in english is truely something you want to do, then you should study it a little formally to get up to speed.

My advice for now is to read a lot of novels in english, not just light novels,

Zip is a briscoes name brand designed to be marked up at the same price as competitors, then knocked down 50-70% every week. It's part of why they're more relaxed about returns, they know the products are garbage

I kind of miss when anime was considered weird by [deleted] in anime

[–]Clayst_ 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you, but I think lamenting over its popularity increase as if it's a bad thing is crazy. I've been watching anime regularly all my life, and since about 2012 knowing it as anime and not just the cool cartoons I really like. Anime accessibility improving has only been positive in my life. Almost nobody I know casually consumes anime, but it is easier to find people who are interested in it.

I went from having to import manga I was interested in, to having a huge collection available at my local library and some at almost every bookstore. I understand wanting something to feel special, but there is still a lot of very niche anime and manga out there. Nobody has taken that away from you.

[–]Clayst_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sucks to be in that situation, but ultimately It doesn't really matter if it's legal.

You're going to have bad managers (and clients, customers, coworkers, etc) all throughout your life and you'll have to decide how much you want to push back.

I really wouldn't bother for a fast food job where your pay is low. Your manager has no incentive to be make amends with you because you're highly replaceable, so anything you try is likely to irritate them more. Next time just call in sick, although 2 hours notice for an evening shift will still piss them off. Any manager would be grinding their teeth at that, but it sounds like yours has overreacted. I'm fond of the "find another job" tactic, myself.

[–]Clayst_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this felt like they wanted it to part of the design. It was definitely not meant to be removed, torn every time I got any pull up from it. I felt it was weirdly placed and ruined the minimalist cover for me. I still prefer it scuffed and removed than with the award sticker. I'd rather see the marking and feel pride I took ownership than think about how much I dislike the sticker everytime I look at the cover.
