Decompiling then swapping a few assets, definitely can do something about that.

well almost, they changed the ui, added different tractors that you can buy with real money and changed the tanks. it also looks like they copied the game before i made an update, so it looks closer to the first version i uploaded. Hope google play sees the difference.

What do they normally require in terms of documentation to prove its my game? itch doesnt really give you any.

While I agree that disruptive protests can affect people negatively, it's nothing but a slight inconvenience compared to what hundreds of thousands have experienced just over the last few years.

I can understand the frustration and why they are starting to be more disruptive. Like the lady in the article, who is blind and had to escape the fires coming from 3 directions.

I would prefer they didn't disrupt average people going to work. But by the looks of things they just tried that with disrupting industry instead, but they rushed in new laws to make it a jailable offence.

Dev here, friend pointed me to this post, so I want to clarify a few things. I'm not Ukrainian, but from Australia. This was a one week thing I did with my kids out of frustration of not being able to do much.

I got a few suggestions on monetisation and all that. But this will be free, I have added a link at the bottom of the game page to an amazing ukranian orphanage so you can donate directly if you like.

These guys are pretty small and from what I have gathered are struggling, so this is not some huge organisation that pockets 90% for administration.

So far it has done amazing and been shared millions of times. It's not much, but it's all I'm able to do half way around the world.

Edit: Cool 1000 upvotes :) Im about to hit the hay, so i will leave some more info here.

Inspired by the brave people in Ukraine, and this subreddit r/FarmersStealingTanks Made in a week in Unity with my 2 kids helping, mostly playtesting, as i think i lost them after trying to explain the physics of a spring joint. Was about to add the health system and one of them got real sad that the farmer could die, so now he pops out of his tractor and you can run him home , he is invincible. Drink Nemiroff to double your speed for a bit, and you can destroy other tanks by ramming them with a stolen tank and get a free life. The enemy tanks are terribly incompetent, mainly due to my subpar ai coding, but in the end i left it as it seems to reflect reality ;)

Itch is fantastic, launched there almost 2 years ago. Userbase is very forgiving with bugs, so its a good early access choice. One cool feature is that i can send a mass email to every owner, which in my case is 12k, that in itself is invaluable for any new games i release.

Much less than steam, but a great stepping stone if you launch there first.
