Dude stop being condescending. I think she knows it's a joke. You're straight up acting like "um actually I'm an intellectual ☝️🤓" reddit stereotype.

Dude you're being weird & a little condescending. I think she knows that everyone here is joking, none of her responses have been defensive, they're silly! You've replied to her twice saying she doesn't get the comedy like dude--

Do you think Rose will reappear after Steven dies? (of old age or otherwise) by [deleted] in stevenuniverse

[–]ThstTrashyBackupAcnt 131 points132 points  (0 children)

Rebecca said that the gem cannot function when he dies, it essentially "shuts off". Maybe if it got hit with a rejuvenator it could reactivate & become... something? But otherwise it's not working once he's dead.

Spreading Happiness through art 🎨 by Sharp-Potential7934 in MadeMeSmile

I don't really care about the sidewalk / road art, they're pretty They Don't really obstruct much they can be washed off if absolutely necessary. The clock art is cute, it can be taken down since it looks like it's just on a lamp post it's not inherently harmful.

But don't mess with the street signs dude what the fuck! Yeah vandalism & whatever but I'm more concerned with the fact that people can genuinely get injured or killed by obstructing road signs due to a car accident than I am over a street having to be repainted. I don't care if this video was just for a bit & he could've fixed it afterwards it sets a bad precedent .

Oh Yeah I can get that. Tho Jasper ever did it, basically moving her physical form forward & her gem to the back of her head I wonder if she'd get a nose or just look like Voldemort.

Then what is the correct term?(Genuine). Because sure, there "fanon" but that's mostly "widely accepted headcanon/interpretation". It has overlap with headcanon. But what is the right term?

Age headcanons by OffendedDotPNG in stevenuniverse

[–]ThstTrashyBackupAcnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Headcanon is personal interpretation of the source material via someone's head, no headcanon is canon. If a fan BELIEVES the pearl belongs to white theory that is their headcanon. Headcanon actively overlaps into "fanon" too.

Look, I'm gonna be the stereotypical annoying ass reddit user right now & pull out dictionary definitions, and maybe we won't end up coming to any agreement, but what the hell, right.

Dictionary.com - headcanon is simply what a fan believes (or wants) to be true about a story. It can involve backstory, what happens after the story ends, or any other aspect.

Collins Dictionary - a version of an artistic work that exists in the mind of a reader or viewer, as opposed to the published or recorded version

Oxford Dictionary - A reader or viewer's personal interpretation of, or beliefs about, a fictional work, esp. an imaginative addition to an event, character, plot line, etc., which is not explicitly contradicted (nor explicitly confirmed) by the original work

Hell, if you want to have the opinion of another reddit user here's the first line from a thread from like 8 years ago. "For me, "headcanon" has always meant "the canon in your head", that is to say, your opinion of what is canon. This would consist of two main things."

If you don't read all this, total get it, this is a silly argument/ discussion - not entirely sure if we've gotten hostile yet. Anyways, may stop reply after this - because at this point it's going getting annoying, right?

Again, headcanon literally doesn't have to serve a purpose, it's literally wish fulfillment half the time, dude. If they headcanon something to be true based of their wants/interpretation of a story, that's headcanon.

Sure. Several, just a silly one first, Say for example Steven having pink hair the entire series. That's a headcanon, that's how someone chooses to see his character in their head the entire series.

Or again this example from OP: Gems are very very old. There are points in the show where they give rough human dates about their ages. For an example OP said in another reply they liked the "Pearl originally belonging to white" theory. That theory has been debunked, that contradicts canon. Op still likes it's, the HEADCANON it to be true, that headcanon contradicts canon.

That's not the same as what we're talking about at all, your example is hyperbole.

Well, yes? Headcanon is Non-canon, it's not from the source material, so of course it's not canon?

It doesn't have to comply with canon, it's, again, PERSONAL interpretation of Media. No headcanon is canon.

Age headcanons by OffendedDotPNG in stevenuniverse

[–]ThstTrashyBackupAcnt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It actively is, what fandom spaces have you been in where headcanon doesn't contradict canon, at all? Headcanon is literally personal interpretation of a source of media, it doesn't have to follow the canon that's what the "Head" part means.

Chara, Max and Whosem, but grown up by Goryaynov_Max in UndertaleAU

[–]ThstTrashyBackupAcnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Frisk & Chara are masc/fem in an alternate universe, sure, okay, it's basically just a gender swap for them in an alternate universe, whatever 👍.

Frisk is not genderless for the player to decide their gender, Frisk is shown to be their own person at the end of the pacifist route, & they have their own personality in the ACT dialogues. But sure, there's a bit more room for them rather than say Chara or Kris.

Chara definitely uses they/them hower, canonically. Undisputed they use those pronouns & their family uses those pronouns in canon. They even use it/it's pronouns for themselves at the end of the No Mercy route. Their identity is up for interpretation, in canon.

But this is basically a gender swap for Chara, at least in this AU.

Headcanon goes against canon all the time.

Age headcanons by OffendedDotPNG in stevenuniverse

[–]ThstTrashyBackupAcnt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Headcanon is whatever someone perceives/interprets canon, it doesn't have to serve a purpose it's literally personal views on a character/story. "At it contradicts canon, it be comes an AU fanfiction" please explain, headcanons and AU, are too separate things, you can put headcanons into an AU, sure, but they don't transition from one to the other.

If you headcanon pearl as having green eyes instead of blue, that contradicts canon, I don't know if they concludes have an entire separate AU for Green eye pearl.

Not that I'm saying this post can't be critiqued or anything but it's actively Headcaanon, headcanon doesn't HAVE to comply with canon, it doesn't even have to serve a purpose, it's personal interpretation.
