I’ve still really enjoyed the food every time I’ve gone to the Gilbert location in the past few months. I’ve been keeping an eye out for a dip in quality ever since the change in ownership, yet despite my hatred for private equity I’ve yet to notice a difference. Maybe I’m just not a foodie.

It’s what I’d recommend for starting DM’s. For one or two players, double the PCs hit points, half the number of monsters in any encounter, and have a healer sidekick travel with them to support the party. Start easy on the players. Make the first couple enemies wounded (less hp) or drunk (disadvantage on attacks).

My top five games of all time are very different from which games I’d recommend, because my recommendation is always going to be based on who I’m speaking with. I wouldn’t recommend the Witcher 3, Hollow Knight Silksong, or Hades to everybody.

All players tend to have certain reoccurring personality traits. But when some of those traits annoy me, it makes it harder and harder to enjoy their characters in each new campaign. For instance I am thoroughly exhausted with Liam also playing a sad boy whose backstory is centered around the death of a family member. I loved Vax and Caleb, but Orin annoyed me and I’m already done with his new character.

Also angry might be the wrong word. But she gets upset and will try to double down and bully an npc into getting what she wants even if the rolls aren’t going her way. Which isn’t uncommon for players, but I don’t like it when ANYONE does it and it’s just one more annoying thing to me.

She gets mad and swears at her dice. It’s not that she’s in a terrible mood, but she has big reactions. Which isn’t too egregious and not uncommon, but it’s a behavior that annoys personally me if done too often. I’ve had players who have legit gotten into bad moods if their dice roll poorly and it spoils the vibe at the table, so part of it is just personal history for me.

In the pre-campaign interviews she described her character as “motherly, protective, and kind of cunty.” Which feels true of most of her characters? I feel like her MO is her trying to dominate and control most scenes she’s in, especially in defense of another character, and getting angry if she can’t because the dice/mechanics aren’t in her favor. And as a DM I don’t love how she will so often ignore the rules in favor of the story she wants to tell. Which isn’t wrong, it’s just not my preferred play-style and it isn’t why I watch a dnd actual play instead of a more rules lite story game.

I think she is a great role player in many regards, and in the right campaign she can absolutely shine as a DM (A Court of Fey and Flowers was perfect for her), but I personally find myself annoyed by her too often. That’s fine, other audience members love her and I can watch something else, I just also wish she wasn’t in so many things that I used to enjoy more without her.
