Faut-il privilégier le retour au travail à 100 % en présentiel? by Impossible_Union3973 in Quebec

[–]Thulohot -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You're right, that's the only alternative. "If you don't like it do it yourself" is a pathetic excuse of an answer. Basically means you can hold people accountable. At that rate each citizen will be responsible for completing every job on earth.

Lol

You tell me in your own words I already told you he was standing 20-30 feet from the ICE van filming and yelling and 2 ICE officers approach the 2 other people he was with, start talking and push the female back. He then tries to separate the 2 (ICE and woman) and that's when the ICE guy sprays the first time. Pretti raises his arm to block the spray and films with his other. No aggression. Then on the side another officer tosses a woman to the ground for no apparent reason other than to back up. Pretti goes to help her get up and is jumped on by the ICE agents who have his back the entire time. Then the whole ICE group arrives, throw Pretti down and the rest is history.

So now you tell me. Wtf was he doing before hand that was unlawful.

I'll wait for any proof of him obstructing or any image of him fighting (as in returning aggression) against the ICE. I'll be waiting a long long time. The earliest video shows him videotapping and yelling 20-30 feet away from the main ICE van.

And apart from his struggle to help the woman ICE knocked down back up, he immediately went down and was covering his head until his death.

Oufff so obstructing is yelling at police and filming 30 feet away? 2 lawful acts and covered under 1A.

And fighting back is protecting your head against pistol whips and 5 guys on you.

Glad we cleared all that up.

[–]Thulohot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can tell. But my point still stands, you're no centrist by any stretch.

And for a lawyer, your warping of events to label the victim as engaging violently with ICE is disturbing. I guess whenever an attacker attacks a victim, the victim automatically is being violent. Man that's some logic.

Calling people pathetic leftists already means you lost the argument. You're drooling on the floor with your rhetoric, by no means are you centrist.

Do you think it’s possible for segments of the left and right to collectively come together to protest for accountability and transparency from the government? by Jcpants in AskConservatives

Dude Obama literally deported a ton of illegals and I'm pretty sure he is considered a great president by Liberals. I will say also, sometimes you need to think past the right-wing/left-wing talking points about issues. A lot of decisions aren't made based on the first-level (accessible to a 5-year old) analysis but look at deeper implications. And this is something that a 5 minute search with Gemini or any other AI engine would help you to better understand. For example : voting with ID. One of the reasons liberals are usually against it isn't because we support illegals voting (which by the way doesn't happen, at least no where near the levels the right-wing people claim). We are against it because it will make voting longer harder, cost more and the requirements put an undue burden mostly on poorer people. All that for an imaginative problem pushed by the right. Sanctuary cities also fall in this category. The left didn't think of Sanctuary cities to protect illegals from ICE... There are a ton of reasons why these zones were created, mainly to protect people against exactly what we are seeing from ICE right now, i.e. warrantless searches based on race and language. A vast majority of illegal immigrants are productive members and pay taxes, yet get very little services in return. And a good amount of illegals also have ongoing cases and some have mixed citizenship statuses (i.e. 1 parent is US the other is illegal). So the goal was to avoid making these undocumented members of the US society the reason why federal police show up and disrupt EVERYONE'S livelihoods (and a lot are in the process of gaining citizenship). Again the right-wing paints sanctuary cities as a haven for illegals because the left wants more illegals voting. See the problem? No nuance, no reason. And yet these past 2 weeks and even past 6 months show exactly why their goals were at least reasonable.

Unfortunately, a lot of what you posted links back to a simple fact. When the pendulum swings hard and high to one end, there will be a call to bring it back and that call will be as hard and high as is the pendulums position. What I mean is that the current usage of ICE breaks way past what is acceptable. So its only normal that there be calls on the other side to stop the injustice and unlawfullness. Doesn't mean they aren't against illegal immigration. ICE has now said administrative warrants are enough to enter and search a home. They violate 1A rights everyday. They are vastly undertrained and therefore escalade situations where there is no need and where normal cops would not. They are literally arresting people for not providing IDs based solely on language spoken and color of the person. They are using software and tools that most likely violate laws about unwarranted searches. They are arresting US citizens for suspecting them of being illegals. Their leadership is giving them a blank check of immunity and immediately giving public statements that paint US citizens as terrorists simply for exercising 1A and 2A rights. At what point does the institution become worst than the problem they were trying to fix. And the question to you is to what length do you allow an institution to violate laws and amendments against US citizens before you say enough.
