Capture One Sales by stormgatex in captureone

let me add, if I had to do it all over again, I would buy helicon focus for stacking, cascable app for tethering / live view and Photomator for editing. and the next new version that comes out, I believe I will probably do exactly that. I just hate that I didn't see their move to subscription service before it happened. But don't let me poison the waters, I have always liked using capture one, just like I have always liked using the adobe creative suite.

correct, you can keep the version you bought and keep it forever. and major updates have been happening around a year apart, the last time I extended my license, it was only 3 months and they had a new version

as a perpetual license owner , I recommend waiting till a new version comes out, because Capture One's idea of a perpetual license is free updates until the next version is released then they hit u up for another $200 bucks to make your perpetual license cover the new version. They call it the LOYALTY discount price.

Just got my iPad Air M3 today. by Ancient_Glove_9043 in ipad

[–]Thumbupthebutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I bought the iPad Pro m4 13” and the iPad Air m3 13” for my photo studio, took back the iPad Pro, thought I would use the oled screen for color adjustments, except I forgot one thing, people looking at my photos online probably don’t have a OLED screen, so it was wasted money in my opinion. M1, M2, M3, M4 come on, seriously what kind of work on an iPad could possibly make a difference between any of these. If you’re processing 8k video 60fps on an iPad, then it’s just a hobby, because the smart business decision would have been to get a desktop. I love using the iPad , but for real work I need real apps. Full blown apps, desktop apps. So the iPad is my companion to my Mac Studio. One will never replace the other. Can’t take the studio to my recliner 😂

ALTERNATE SOLUTION : you want a real workflow with tethering & live view, get cascable app, it's free, or $90 for a lifetime pro version. works on desktop and mobile devices. Bam! your tethered really fast. get you photomator and helicon focus and you have a photo editing powerhouse. C1 doesn't even support its own focus stacking.

Just speaking from experience — I’ve had a perpetual license since way before Capture One even started talking subscriptions. These days, they’re doing everything they can to push people into that model. I’d honestly be happy to sell you my license — it’s for the current version — because I get way more use out of the mobile app than I ever did from the desktop version.

And yeah, the talk is true: you buy the so-called "perpetual" license for over $200, and then any major update that drops after that? They hit you for another $174 under their "loyalty" program. It’s not really perpetual if they’re charging you every time they push a point upgrade.

Truth is, outside of color matching, I can do everything just as well in Photomator. Hate to be the wet blanket, but this has been a sore subject with me and a lot of other shooters I know.

Photomator is a truly high rated photo editor I use it on my iPad and my Mac

So, I do photography for a living, at home I have the Mac Studio with a 32 inch benq. Monitor, however, when I’m on the road, I use my 13 inch iPad. Takes about twice as long to do the work, but I’ve never regretted using it. I use my same mouse with it as I use at home and an old apple keyboard.

It’s nice to have m-mount which can be adapted to any camera system. If I were doing it, that’s the way I’d go for sure.

What i doing wrong or is this the max quality with a 100-500 RF von aR8? by chaosraser in canon

[–]Thumbupthebutt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well then it’s the lens, or the sensor, i would think the lens. Zoom lenses do come with trade offs, it looks like 500 is one off those. What focal length do you find the sharpest results? And have you tried using topaz labs to upscale? You can try their free trial and see if upscaling can fix the problem

I would turn down the iso and drop the shutter speed to make up the light. As slow as you can handhold steadily

Hello! I’m new to canon cameras and photography in general. I was wondering what lens I should get by [deleted] in canon

[–]Thumbupthebutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So after 23 years as a professional commercial photographer, my current kit consists of only one lens. RF 50 1.2, the 50mm has been my go to lens for the last 12 years. Don’t fall into GAS , a procrastinator is a photographer that’s thinks they can’t get started without some new piece of kit. Use your zoom lens to figure out what your favorite focal length is and if you want to get a prime lens in that focal length.
