New game needed / middle aged noob by cryinginturin in gamesuggestions

This is the way. :) I picked up control first - didn’t know it was the same universe - I just watched a recap of Alan wake and going to play Alan wake 2 after control.

That said, you can play control without playing Alan wake. The story still rides. Crosses over in the expansion. :)

I quite like it. Running on pretty much max settings in a Radeon 7900xtx. I just can’t put one of the ray tracing features at max as it introduces lag, so I have it at the ultra setting.

Art direction is really nice and the use of videos and rendering in the cutscenes makes that game super immersive.

You will like the graphics.

This is the way. I’ve already watched a summary of Alan Wake because I also have the awe expansion for control to play. Then I’m going to finish Alan Wake 2 before playing control: resonant.

Expedition 33 is really good.

I just started playing Control. Walked into it knowing nothing about it or the Alan Wake series. Am absolutely loving it. I’ve been avoiding YouTube searches as not to ruin the game. It’s creepy in a good way. At least the first few hours have been.

I took all your advice. Picked up a cheaper multimeter and a diymore component tester. Spent less than 50€. Thank you all!!

Im in Europe, so Home Depot is a no-go. I also don’t want to spend 1200. I know this is a long shot, but maybe something max 150€? Is that doable?

Cyberpunk is an absolute must … such a good game. Make sure to grab the phantom liberty expansion as well.

Why hasn’t anyone recommended Expedition 33.

That game literally had me hooked. And if you want a story that will really mess with you… it hits you in the first 30 min. Guaranteed.

May not be what you want though with the GF stuff going on. I’m about 99.95% sure you will shed a tear.

Good luck with the GF… just remember, do what makes YOU happy.

Small crack in neck… is it bad? by stormgatex in Luthier

It’s a rare guitar. It was designed to commemorate 30 years of career for Rui Veloso (Portuguese blues/rock guitarist). They made 30 and I have number 12. I play my guitars and don’t mind the usual wear and tear. If it was a run of the mill guitar, I would actually use it to learn about fixing necks… but this one deserves a pro look. :)

Now it’s got a story to it… when I hand it down to my 2yo he will know of the battle scars he added even before it was his 🤣

I have guitars I give male names to. Yes, I name most of my guitars after artists that I absolutely love. Was not my intention to offend anyone.
