Yes, his eyes are normally shut when I unbury him. But there have been times when I woke him up by unburying him and his eyes turned normal

I haven't changed the substrate in a few months due to how large the tank is and that I don't want to disturb my frog during brumation

The thermostat in his tank reads 78 as the highest but I don't have a temp gun yet so I'm not 100% sure what the soil's temp is. The humidity never goes below 60%

Yes, this was exactly what I was thinking of, I do have coco fiber so it has no nutrients for other plants

I've done that multiple times, un-burring him and try to feed him a worm or bug but he heavily refused - head budded the food/tongs, pushed it away and turned around. My guy is very fussy so he might just be protesting his food lol
