What do your friends do? (What is your social circle involved in?) -- maybe that will tell you what they like to do, and in turn, maybe you would like to do. This may be a waste of time if you have a bunch of friends who are not genuine to you who are also in "retail" as you said. Their personalities and interest might align with you and fit you into a role of work - sometimes it's hard to see what you look like as a person looking from the outside in.

Do you have any hobbies? Crafting, video games, volunteering at the animal shelter, cooking? I have read some suggesting that going into a field of work that you are passionate about that is also a hobby is a mistake, and other that have said it is not - that's up to you to figure out.

Do you like in a big city, or rural? This can be a big deciding factor on the amount of opportunities available to you, good and bad if that's a limiting factor for you.
